At the moment, probably intel, they have the better performing chipsets, but in the bang for buck section, I don't really know. I bought my AMD AM2 64x 6000+ CPU a few months back for $230AU, and that's a bargain in my book, performs really good as well, so no complaints at all from me.

At the moment Intel has a clear lead on the high end so I feel compelled to pick Intel. The same thing could be said for AMD before the Core 2 Duos were released.

Any gamer with a bit of knowledge will know that AMD is doing horrible now. Intel wins hands down. You must be truly ignorant to think AMD is better than Intel. I can post over hundreds of links on major sites supporting intel over amd. Heck look at the new benchmarks gamespot realeased on AMD Pehmon. It even has a design problem which can cause the computer to hand (an errata error). Even though AMD claim it happens very rarely, the fact that such a problem is known and the fix slows the performance, will futher put AMD down. Buy intel peryn cores with the 45 nm processors.

Get intel.

And no, true gamers do not always choose AMD. In this industry, turns can turn upside down.

lol the fanboys come out to play.

Right now, the E6750 is better than all the AMD dual cores with a small overclock easily achievable on stock cooling and voltage. The q6600 is the best deal for a quad core as well, and when penryn comes out intel will be even farther ahead.

True, AMD was better once, but they aren't anymore.

EDIT: oh thank god that was a joke.
