Now I find the release of 1080Ti to be more fit in time.

The new Vega GPU will be sold around 500$, features 8Gb HBM2.

Sounds like AMD is back to the game fighting 2 giants right now (Nvidia and Intel)

I'll just leave this pict right here.

I'd set my expectations lower than Ryzen. I'm thinking it'll be lower than gtx 1070 and 1080 from their own counterparts with a somewhat rough launch, but drivers will slowly get better and surpass nvidia's rival offerings.

Yeah I didn't get that one neither - early false advertising/hype?

Doesn't have to, they can just make it compete with the 1070/1080 and price aggressively.

Don't forget the value of having the fastest card...

If the Vega is around the performance of the 1080, or 1080 Ti, I'll be picking one up for sure.

It performs amazingly well, much faster than I could have imagined. Compared to my old FX-8320, EVERYTHING feels faster, even just surfing the web. Games perform better obviously. And it runs vert very cool, especially considering I'm using a low profile cooler https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAADY5BC4478 now I am not an OCer, thus why I used this cooler. But the temps are around 40c idle, and around 50c during load. Most issues I have experienced have been Mobo related (which may get fixed with firmware updates).
