Just to clarify. It's on steam, comes out June 17. I already pre loaded it, though I'm not too sure if tax dollars should go to a game, oh wait my bad a "simulator". They called AA 2.0 a simulator too lol :D Anyway, I'm excited though as well.JigglyWiggly_Well, seeing how the US Military has a surplus of conscripts and that god knows how many were influenced by AA and are now protecting the nation, I'm sure it was a wise investment of tax dollars. :P
hmm... i thought the beta just started last month? June 17 seems like a bit of a rush to me.
but yea, i like AA. i'll definitely pick this one up.

would it be a good game for shooter game starters?

it actually has a fairly steep learning curve. So no.
I remember AA's training, especially the parachute portion. I hope it wont be mandatory for AA3. lol. But it wasn't that bad...on the contrary, i hope the game will step upits difficulty by including more comprehensive ( and compulsory ) trainining ops. that's what this game is all about.
lol. true. I guess im just in my blood-thirsty instant action mood.on the contrary, i hope the game will step upits difficulty by including more comprehensive ( and compulsory ) trainining ops. that's what this game is all about.

Nooooo I hated the training. I don't want to spend my relaxing time off work to take a class memorizing military vehicles...on the contrary, i hope the game will step upits difficulty by including more comprehensive ( and compulsory ) trainining ops. that's what this game is all about.

[QUOTE="Jinroh_basic"]Nooooo I hated the training. I don't want to spend my relaxing time off work to take a class memorizing military vehicles... It's a free game and it is sponsored by the U.S. Army. They'll make you do what-ever. I do agree that the training was insanely dull. They could spice it up a bit instead of forcing us to watch videos and listen to someone talk before taking a multiple choice test (lol).on the contrary, i hope the game will step upits difficulty by including more comprehensive ( and compulsory ) trainining ops. that's what this game is all about.

i will takeagamethat requires hark work and dedication oversomething that allows a medic to fly a jet, any freaking day.
Game looks shocking, I don't know how they managed to screw the unreal 3 engine up so bad. But hey, it's free so I'll still download.
I've been playing America's Army since 1.0 came out around 7yrs ago. It's definitely on par with full priced retail games, however it's definitely not geared towards the mainstream audience. It's one of the most realistic FPS games out there, it's not going to be easy for people used to arcadish shooters such as CoD4 to jump right into. There are no respawns in this game.......If you're somebody who likes to run off on own Rambo style, you're going to die within the first 2minutes of a round and may have to wait 8 minutes for the round to be finished before you can play again. I highly recommend everybody download it and check it out since it's free....I just know a lot of first time players here will come back screaming "OMFG This game blows!" because they can't manage to kill somebody their first few hours of playing. I've been playing 3.0 for a couple of days now and have been having a blast. The training missions are quiet a bit more challenging, but more fun as well due to the achievement system in place. The graphics are a lot better than the screenshots I've seen, not the best ever but of course this is just UE3 we're talking about. The gameplay is drastically improved over 2.x....I love the feeling of diving behind cover while under fire. Hmm.....think I'll go play some for a bit now :) SuperBeast
Good to see verteran players enjoying this game. I started an account on the 1.0 version, but was never really serious about it. Played on and off but never joined a clan or anything. In 2.3 I came back and had a blast with it for a few years. I was one of the rare ones that enjoyed the 2.7 version, but I still feel that it wasnt needed and the community started to dip after that release. I havent played the 3.0 beta yet but Ive watched videos and have it predloaded on steam already. I honestly cannot wait for this game, looks awesome!!!
[QUOTE="sammysalsa"]I want to know, too. i think its 5gb...got mine pre loaded..have never played any americas army game before ...so i hope that i do enjoy it...Would anyone know how big the AA3 pre-load on steam is?
