so instead of asking the generic "top mmorpg?" question. i want to know a game that you think is so good that you still play today. if, however, you feel so strongly about a game that you stopped playing, feel free to put it on.

PLEASEexplain why you chose the game or why you stopped playing the game you recommended.

World of Warcraft (awesome PvP/PvE, and all my friends play it). Really want to get into EverQuest pretty soon as well, the raiding in that game looks epic.

I played WoW for around 5 years but it got stale and there was just far to much drama. I have been playing Lord of the Rings Online for the past 3 months and loving every minute of it.

I still play Darkfall Online. The fact that you can lose everything you are carrying in PvP really gets my adrenaline pumping at times. It is very addictive if you like PvP and adrenaline.

If I had the Money it would be Star Wars Galaxies, everybody hated that game but I loved it.

Just started getting into EVE online again, and this time I love it and think I will stay with it.

The first time I did the tutorials... well that was just the problem, I didn't. Not fully anyway. I rushed through the tutorials and ended up not knowing what the hell to do or a general direction.

This time I am alot more into it, and have a general sense of direction. Although I might have made a second mistake, I joined a US time zone corp but I am aussie, they have alot of members and are very active around my mid day (will be good for the next 4 months) but not at night. They offered for me to have a role in the corp perhpas later down the track, and be the aussie recruiter, not sure how well that will turn out. But its a well imbedded alliance with developing systems for farming out in our own space, so it may turn out dandy. Getting other aussies to come down here will be the challenge. Or I may just give up and migrate :P.

But yeah, EVE = Awesome. Always looking for more friends, if your new to the game like me still, PM me and we can chat or whatever in game.

EDIT: Oh right, forgot to mention my internal conflict whether to play cataclysm, or just keep on playing EVE. I could play both, but I have a feeling I would just play both half heartedly and that would just make the experience in general a lot less fun. So yeah still thinking hard

lotro & vindictus They are the best around atm until next gen mmorpg releases (was expecting ffxiv to be in that wave but it's a piece of crap). lotro for the amazing amount of content and the lore, only negatives are no skill tree and the music makes you want to sleep. vindictus my hack and slash placeholder (waiting for d3), nice graphics, amazing boss fight but killing mobs is really repetitive and they need to add a little more content but it's a new game so they will. And both are f2p with p2p quality gameplay.

I still play Everquest 1 an its still very fun indeed. I have tried other MMOS, I even spent a year playing WoW until I realised that I didnt really enjoy the game and I was just addicted to it or something. In the end I always go back to playing EQ because its fun to play.

IMO raiding in Everquest is the best in any MMO. EQ raids make WoW raids seem very weak. If you can get used to the dated graphics and interface in EQ and get into a decent raiding guild you will find the game is very fun and very rewarding.
