Ok, so im getting a new pc and don't know weather or not to get 32-bit vista ultimate or 64-bit. Is there a compatibility test or something anywhere?

What sort of compatibility issues are there?

My dad's got a Western Digital MyBook external hard drive, will this be ok?

I have i Western Digital Elements external hard drive, will this be ok?

What about games do all game work on the 64-bit or not?

And, finally does SP1 have anything to do with this? (increase compatibility or anything)?

Thanks

Uhh..the only compatibility issues you should have is finding drivers for odd hardware. Other than that everything should work just fine. If you are getting 4gb of ram or more definately go with 64bit since 32bit will not recognize that much ram

In the future 4GB's RAM will be standard and it would be a real paint to have to go out and buy a new OS just to get some extra RAM into your system! Also 64Bit is on my PC and it runs fine... i have had no compatibility issues to date.
