What OS will you be using? For $800, I'd be looking at something like this: Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB HD502HJ $39.00 HIS Radeon HD6870 IceQ X 1GB $199.00 ntec High Current Gamer 520W Power Supply HCG-520 $79.00 Corsair CMV4GX3M2A1333C9 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 $35.00 ASUS DRW-24B3ST 24X DVDRW Drive $25.00 Intel Core i5 2500K $225.00 Xigmatek Asgard Pure Black Edition $59.00 ASUS P8P67-M PRO Motherboard B3 $149 Total: $810 Prices taken from PCCaseGear.com I'd you can add another ~100 to your budget, I'd look at getting a more powerful PSU (~650W) and a mobo that supports CF. Then, you can add another 6870, when you want/need some more power.

Will be using Win7 Ultimate, thinking I might drop the RAM down to 4G for now and use the saved money to swap to swap to an i5 2400 and a 650w coolermaster psu. Need to keep the 1Tb hdd as my current 500 is pretty full.

2400 is a waste for gaming, get the 2500k, there is no other processoer but the 2500k you should choose. Drop down to 4GB of RAM and a 6870 and you will have a more balanced PC. Also I wouldnt recommend the Cooler Master PSU, I returned mine because it was so loud and another forum member had the exact same problem. I went for the XFX Core PSU, its one of the best you can get if you dont care about modular, it has one of the highest Amp Rails you can buy and handle system load one of the best to just look at the reviews.

Anyway you could get it from Newegg instead? Lot of people know that site better and you will likely get a better deal.

Use Home Premium instead and use the saved money elsewhere.

Only using ultimate because I have a free copy lying around... well provided I can convince microsoft to re-activate it, really have no interest in the additional features
