Hello, I just bought a Neopower 650w for my computer, and installed it.

Noticed it has 3 12v rails @ 19 amps. Running an 8800GT that requires 24 amps, and plan on SLI.

Since it has 3 12v rails am I fine? or should I RMA it and get something with a higher amp on it's rails?

Imo you should send it back and get something that has more amps on it. Definitly if you plan to sli it.

Wait when it has 3 12v ramps @ 19amps each, do they add together to make 47amps for more than adequate amount of amps to power 2 cards?

Well I'm not really sure what is the best out there cause I'm building my self a new pc and am just learning what is what. Now don't get me wrong I know the basic of the computer and am learning what is what.

I don't know if this is the best or how much it is these days but this is what kind of psu I have.

Infinity x ultra well revers that and that is the name of the psu anyways it is a sli with 500 watts and I don't know all of the details on it cause I have for goten what is what but I can tell you this I'm running a 8800gt superclocked 512mb gpu card and it is doing perfectly fine.

I have had this psu for 2 years a 2 months now roughly and it is still going strong.

It is in a Acer AMD Athlon dual core 2.0ghz 3800+ with 2 gigs ddr ram 2 hDDs 2 cd/dvd roms sound blaster se sound card and that is all.

At the time when I bought this I have no idea what I was doing and so all I saw was 500 watts and so I said yea that sounds like a good amount of watts and so I put it into the pc and then I realize all these wires going every wich way and I wondered why is that and what was sli and so I ask that question here and someong told me what it was and I was like oh ok that explains why but by this time the return was up and so. I have to leave the side case off of the pc in order to get dicent airflow.

I got a mini tower and so that was the other problem but over all to me at least it is great and has a life time warrenty with it.

If you are still looking for psu, look out for corsair and thermaltake they are good brands. Antec is good too. With any PSU, you have to do research and find out what you need such as, the new nvidia graphics cards require an 8 and 6 pin PSU connecters and most only come with two 6 pin connecters. Especially if you plan on SLI that really only leaves you 1 or 2 viable choices for PSU in the end.
