Here are two solutions that I know are decent. AVG and Avast!

 

Personally like Avast!, but that's me.

If you belong to Comcast, they got McAfee for free. If not, just check your own ISP and see what they have

I love Avast too! It's so user-friendly. I've never tried AVG, but it's what I'd use if I had to choose something aside from Avast.

I got Nortons for free after rebate.  Been gettiing it free for the last 4 years after rebates

Avira is a great program. I got it a few years ago and have had no problems with any types of virus' at all. It is also mandatory for it to update itself everyday so there is continueing protection, compared to norton which sucks and only updates when you tell it to. It's a great program and does it all!

U can always format your harddisk, that is my practice, and saves u money anyway.
