Ok, I have a lifestyle 25 surround sytem I spent £2300 on, but I'm not thatsatisfied withit to be honest. I'm thinking of replacing it with an Onkyo recieverand putting some Kef speakers with it, but I'm going to leave the Kef sub out and instead opt for a Rel Acoustics Sub.

The whole package will cost a little more than the Bose but I'm expecting a huge improvment in sound.

Am I doing the right thing, and considering I've pretty much decided that the Onkyo (£1000) receiver is the one I'm sticking with, and only want a Rel sub (£500-1000) , are the Kef speakers the best way to go? (I want small speakers rather than big loud speakers but will change my mind for the right product).

Cheers for your help.

At this point, that setup is leaps and bounds better than the Bose.

Go with a Klipsch setup that uses full range floorstanding speakers. center and surrounds. Klipsch makes pretty much the most badass speakers around. No receiver needs to be 200 watts. If you have sensitve speakers, like the klipsch's, you can get the same volume with consideribly less power.

Speaks

Check out this reciever: Denon

Ive already checked out the denon receiver and after a bit of research I think the Onkyo one is the better choice, although I will probably try it oout in the store.

As for the speakers, never heard of these so i'll give them a good looking at, cheers for the input.

Try checking out the AVSForum.com and go into their Speaker and Subwoofer areas.

I've had several (3) of Onkyo systems over the past decade and have never been let down. I would say I have purchased the lower to middle levels of their stuff and been very happy.

P.S. I used to sell Bose when I worked at Gateway and I would always choose Onyko over Bose, epsecially for the cash.

well I'm going for the high end of Onkyo with the 875 thats just come out, but im not sure about the speakers now. I'm glad to hear your thoughts aboutthe Onkyo though and that puts me a bit more at ease, as everyone is doing right now.

Anyone any speaker ideas.

KEF is a better name than klipsh :|, they just look funny =] I wouldn't really change anything to be honest, for the money, that's a great system. I picked some stuff for my brothers Home Theatre and it's the poor man's version of what you have: A Pioneer 1016 Reciever and Klipsh Speakers. I'm looking at an Onkyo 705 Amp for myself in the near futre, that 875 is pretty awesome.
