Hi I was just wondering since the new Radeon HD 7970 just released. I'm looking for a graphic card that will max out most new games out there. Currently I got my eyes on GTX580 and HD6970.

Why buy a 580 when you can get a 7970?

I'm hoping that they will have a price drop because I only have $500 left and I still need a storage drive.

Your guess is as good as ours. With the 7970 being an expensive high end card and nothing in sight in the 7xxx series to suit the mid-range gamer, there's not much reason for AMD to cut prices on the 6xxx series yet.

It's even less likely if AMD have got their supply right so that the 6xxx series has very little in the way of surplus.
