Worm's Armageddon.

Its very cute and extremely funny, and you can sit down with her and play the game a la Hotseat style.  Its a good game in its own right for any age, but I think it would especially appeal to a girl due to the cute worms and bright, cartoony graphics.  So long as she doesnt mind using old woman, holy hand grenades, and super sheep to blow the crap out your worms :D

"Worms: Armegeddon" is a classic, and anyone can enjoy it. I agree with that. It can get frustrating though... because it isn't easy. Another good game is "Sid Meier's Pirates!" That game is a very addictive and lighthearted game where you take control of pirate ships and plunder other ones and trade and... dance. Yeah, it's another great one.

Out of the games I have, my GF really got into Psychonauts.  If she likes platformers (like Mario or Ratchet & Clank), I recommend it.

Polly Pocket's Great Adventure!

Barbie's Hair Salon!

Anything easy enough that even a GIRL can beat it

Lotsa adventure games are fun

I could see anyone on the planet no matter their gender or ability to play most games really enjoying a game like Sam and Max, which you can get through gametap, and if you have gametap (for ten dollars if you buy just one month) she can try out tons of different kinds of games, newer and older, including Worms series, and a lot of adventure games
.. And Polly Pocket's Great Adventure, my personal fav!

THat may be the viewpoint of hippies, liberals, and polically correct people, but from my 23 years of life I have yet to witness a single female that loved every single games a male PC gamer likes.  If a girl does like the game, its a matter of coincedence, plain and simple.

Its not sexist, and its not prejudiced.  Its the truth.  Whats next, a girl says guys dont care about hair products and clothes as much as a girl?  Are us guys gonna call the female community sexist and prejudice for that comment?

girls i know enjoy playing most puzzle games.  it's a hit or miss with almost anything else, they usually prefer to watch instead.  games like dr mario, parappa, puzzle fighter, katamari, things like that.  (yes, i realize they're console but u get the idea)

lemmings and rollercoaster tycoon series come to mind...

Any of the Sims Games, most MMORPG's, the Movies, and someone mentioned gunbound.   Its a free game with quite a few girls that play it online.

Some friends and most of the girls I know play Sims... My ex-girldfriend is playing Age of Mythologic...and the girld friend of my friend GTA: San Andreas! So for some people on previus thread it is truth sometimes girls(not those Barbie-style ones) like the same games with us...

Polly Pocket's Great Adventure, Barbie's Hair Salon or even Harry Poter(if she is a fun of him, ofc this game guys can play it 2 but may find it 2 easy) for smaller age girls(up to 13-14)

For mmo Ragnarok Online, but I met lot of girls also on Guild Wars and WoW.

Better to get her a PS2 with Eye toy or a WII =P

That just reminded me of this chick i used to know, was a huge EQ freak. Then quit playing when she broke up w/her bf, she binged out on CSS for a good 6 months or so. Then i rebuilt my computer, never reinstalled it, n we kinna stopped talking after that.

Thanks for all the replies. :)

Unless shes 10, and easily amused by trash, you should just stick to whats good. Or let her pick something out to ensure she has the most entertainment for the value. Oh yea, try out demos!

Psychonauts!!!  Very cartoonish, funny, & with creative gameplay.  It's also in the bargain bin (but you should buy a gamepad to play it well)

I love the Sims, so definately go for that with an (some) expansions, like the University ir Pets. Also, you could try Black and White, thats a really good game and my 17 year old sister loved it when it first came out.

i'm 29 and i loved Psychonauts. the humor is great and some of it i think kids wouldn't get. it's not just for kids. tell your friends to stop being superficial.
