Drunken End, RAGE wont be out till 2009, Gears of War is a 2008 release, FarCry 2 is a 2008 release, FEAR sequel is 2008, Frontlines is 2008. STALKER Expansion is 2008 and the new FEAR wont be out till 2008. IT also wont be called FEAR, they are changing the name.
Here's a list:
That's a nice list, but my beef with PC gaming right now is....
... the underlined part. They aren't all PC, they're multiplatform or expansions/sequels.
- Bio Shock - Multiplatform
- Company of Heroe: Opposing Fronts -Expansion-ish sequel
- World in Conflict - Multiplatform
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - Multiplatform
- Enemy Territory: Quake Wars - Multiplatform
- Far Cry 2 - Sequel
- Half-life Orange Box - Collection (gone multiplatform)
- Left 4 Dead - Multiplatform
- Medieval 2: Total War Kingdoms - Expansion
- Pirates of the Burning Sea
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky - Sequel (2008)
- Spore(not anytime soon but it's coming) - 2008/2009, as you mentioned
- Starcraft 2 - Sequel
- Tabula Rasa
- Unreal Tournament 3 - Multiplatform
- Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning
- World of Warcraf: Wrath of the Lich King - Expansion
- Battlefield: Bad Company - Multiplatform
- Assassin's Creed - Multiplatform
- Hellgate: London
- Fallout 3 - Multiplatform
That's all I can think of right now so I'm sure I missed some, but as you can see that's a lot of games. Thats all pc too.scorched1992
The PC industry is in a serious hole right now with few original games coming out designed for the PC.If you notice, the games I didn't comment on are all MMO-type titleswith fees involved. The rest were all expansions, sequels, or multiplatform games meaning the PC is likely to havedrawn the short straw during development.
I'm gladwork is keeping me really busy right now because if I had time for much gaming I'd be severely disappointed. I don't believe Crysis will live up to the unrealistic expectations people have for it.
I don't believe for a second that Crysis will live up to the hype. I'm not even sure what the hype is about, anyway; FarCry was a decidedly mediocre game.
At any rate, I've got my eyes on UT3, Quake Wars (though I hear the beta didn't go as well as I had hoped), and Pirates of the Burning Sea.
EDIT: Provide me with a link if I am wrong, but isn't Battlefield: Bad Company a console exclusive?

Umm you are forgetting that almost all the good expected games on consoles are also sequels (Halo3,MGS4,GTA4 and stuff
like that). So what if its a sequal or expansion? Does that make them bad games???

It's makes them repetitive games that lack innovation because they don't want to stray too far from what they're working from.
Many games on the consoles that people are looking forward to are sequels, yes, but by in large the majority of "quality" upcoming original games are multiplatform. Those titles suffer on the PC because they were designed with the console gamer in mind, who is looking for a different experience than what traditional PC gaming provided. If I'm going to dish out the cash for a new game I'm going to want something that's original, innovative, and designed with PC gaming in mind, rather than the developers trying to please all kinds of gamers.
