One of the biggest advantages to STEAM and online game purchases is that they are able to offer a huge catalogue of older discounted games since they dont have to worry about shelf space.

Orange Box: No reason not to get this since its 5 games in 1.

Killing Floor: The best zombie killing game out there.

Borderlands: Diablo meets new FPS.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Not much here for multiplayer but the singleplayer is amazing.

Mount & Blade Warband: Action RPG that has the fluidity of a shooter.

STALKER: Call of Pripyat: Atmospheric game that is pretty cool.

Good Old Games

Blood: Fun old school FPS.

Unreal Tournament 2004: The most recent arena shooter that is actually good.

Witcher: A game everyone should try, the genre is irrelavent.

If you are into RPGs I could help a lot more with recommendations but these should keep you busy.
