Mech4 stunk, not a sim at all. Mech3 was ok but the prime awesomeness was Mech 2: Mercenaries.

Why hasn't there been any Mech2 type game released in what ..... 15 years!!!!!!!!

I havent played the mechwarrior series for a long time, but thats where I 1st learn all my greek alphabets. I dont think there has been an actual mech sim release since then. There was another old game called Earth Siege.....

correct no mech sims.. why? battletech and mechwarrior are owned by jerks as a licensce.. their literally trolling it and everytime they try and make a sequel they get shot down or sued for it. were lucky to have gotten what we did tbh.

wizards of the coast (owners of D&D and mechwarrior) refuse to give it up or let anyone finish a game

if you want though there is a mod for crysis/crysis warhead called mechwarrior: living legends which is a decent MP experience.

hawken is also looking promising

Hawken is FAR from a mech sim.

Maybe there simply is no market for a mech sim, is that it? WTF?

Nice complex Mechwarrior 2 type game in modern graphics would be amazing but I guess all everyone want to play is Call of Dooty or 3rd person auto-cover crap all the time.

Not a word about Mechwarrior 5, is that still in litigation? Even if its not, Mech5 will most likely end up being dumbed down like all other shovelware we get lately.

its never happening.. ever turbine was sued over trying to make it so it was canned.. there will never BE another mech sim only mech combat games which are still pretty fun.. its a dead sub-genre due to rich tycoon's that are copyright trolling

So, they hold a copyright on walking robot simulations? Seems rather broad.

How did the MMORPG Perpetuum manage to get released? Aside from tab targetting, it is a pretty decent mech sim, for a MMORPG.

Like Ionus said, Mechwarrior: Living Legends is your best bet until legal issues are resolved with MW5.

There are tons of youtube uploads of gameplay, and you can check it out for yourself at mechlivinglegends.net.

The only one I can think of is Mechwarrior: Living Legends, a mod for Crysis Wars.

It's in beta but it is very good. Tons of mech variants, tanks, VTOL's, fighters. Still quite active. Community is a little small at the moment but it's growing.
