Any good MMO suggestions?

Hey all,

I've been a pretty loyal WoW layer for about a year and a half now and I created enough toons to fufill all the classes and such that I liked. Now I am looking for a new MMO and I'm kinda stuck between 2 choices. Which would you suggest? Here are my choices (keep in mind my computer doesn't have the best software so WAR won't work on my computer

1)City of Heroes/City of Villans

2) Lord of the Rings online

Which would you suggest and why? Right now I am leaning more towards the City of Heroes/City of Villans combo mainly on price, however I'm not sure how many people play that game anymore. Thanks in advance for your help!!

dude, PLEASE get warhammer online you will never look back! i WoW'd for like 2 years off and on, warhammer is AWESOME. its wow without all the crap. At least look in to it. im in love with this game

See I wanted WAR SOOOOO bad but I just learned my Video Card doesn't fit the requirements. If it wasn't for that I would get it in a blink of an eye. But these two are some that I found would work on my computer

well i betad LOTR and i trialed cities id get cities if i was forced to choose between the two as it has a much longer list of stuff to do. and LOTR is a terrible game if you want to avoid the whole swords annd spells linear leveling process. literally your inital leveling process is so linear it would be better of being called an rpg. anyway its PvP isnt that great and WAR isnt very demanding man a new GFX card would set u back $30 which is nothing shy of cheap. and then your good for a while. anyhow if i could really try and sell an idea to you it would be to lay off the MMO's as there a) largely time consuming and b) most charge a monthly fee which isnt justifyable. guildwars is an online no monthly fee rpg that constantly adds new content just like an MMO without being related to the gnre in ayway they have prooved that content updates o a regular basis arent a result of there fees nor is better servers as they have very good servers for a game community of 2 million people. that have yet to down anything longer than a few hours. so when u can justify other games monthly fees i will happily suggest u pay for them. until that time look up F2P ones and wait on another MMO that peaks your interest. or play another genre, btw if your into shooters or rts u must get your hands on painkiller or dawn of war 2.

ok first of all, aura enchanted, learn to use paragraphs. on one wants to read a block of text.

to the OP, if you have enough money to be playing MMO's anyway, and if you like them that much, then why not just buy a new video card? i guarentee you could find a video card on Ebay or something that will run WAR for less than the price of WAR.

And even if you cant, one under 100 still isnt that bad, and its an investment.

Ask around on forums like these for advice on video cards. which ones are reliable and would work for you etc. i hope you get a card and start playing!

Warhammer Online is not a game I would recommend to someone. However, LoTRO is a good game to play. Especially if you like the LoTR universe. City of Heroes I have not played that game in quite some time. I am sure a lot of people still play.

Age of Conan isn't too bad so i heard but not as good as WAR or WoW.

A good MMO is REALLY hard to build, which is prolly why we wait for years for the next good one.

Waited for 2 years for AoC which was a bust, and it doesn't look like there's much coming out this year, either. ToR mebbe . . we'll see . . .

LOTR:O is a great MMO :) Got it a few days ago and I'm really enjoying it so far.

it isnt going to be anything like Wow, but check out darkfall online. it is supposed to drop in less than 2 weeks.

I am gonna wait for reviews on that one. I mean they have not updated there site in a long time. It still looks old, and outdated.

I haven't even heard of Darkfall online yet. What's it about?

It is suppose to be like Ultima Online if you ever played it. It's really based on skill. The graphics are horrible, but its the game play that really matters in the game. I guess it's suppose to be released in Europe first? I don't know. The game has been in the making for about 7 years so I am not really hyped, or anything for the game. Like I said, I am just going to wait for the reviews and that's all I am going to do.

I guess I'll play devils advocate a little. I think that COH/COV is a much more interesting game than LOTR. LOTR is much bigger and has a better variety of missions but its like every other mmo out there in many ways. I always thought COH had the best team play of any mmo. You actually work with people instead of just existing with them. Thats the whole point of an mmo to begin with isnt it.
