Any good MMOs you don't have to pay monthly for?

Atlantica Online is the only free MMO thats kept my attention for more than one day. I dont play it often, but it still feels nice each time i play if only because it doesnt feel like 90% of the other free MMOs out there.

Depends on what you like - lots of F2P MMO's; many are grind-fests, many require item shop items to be successful, others are under-rated. Dungeon Runners doesn't require a monthly fee (you get more bank pages and can use better drops, but fully playable and fun free; plus only 5 a month for now - changing to completely free w/ item shop in the future [no full details from NCSoft on that yet, but it will be playable in the browser apparently]) Just do a search for Free 2 Play MMO on Google and you will get a ton of results. Another one is Guild Wars - only expense is the purchase of the game, no monthly fees. More of a MOG really with instanced everything (only interaction is in party or in town), but a decent game that runs well on most machines.

many don't seem to know about this - Dungeons and Dragons Online has recently become f2p. it's not popular, but it's alive. upcoming new content has been announced by Turbine, iirc.

Free Realms is another great f2p mmorpg. yes it's a children's game, but it's criticall acclaimed all the same. check out the in depth IGN review on this.

There was a banner yesterday on gamespot frontpage about a list of free ones to download from fileplanet, check it out if you want. I never played them but some seems interesting enough.
