I've had my Logitech G5 for about a year now and really like it. It's got a couple extra buttons for gaming and the nice sensativity button for changing it on the fly. Great mouse in my opinion! :D

Razer Diamondback is around $40 and is a very, very good mouse for the price. I would recommend anything from Razer.

Looks like I'll be alone in this but I'm pretty happy with my Microsoft Sidewinder X5. http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/gaming/Productlist.aspx?type=Mouse It's pretty good value in my opinion. There's also the cordless X8, as well as a corded version which is somewhat confusingly just named the Sidewinder. They also do a budget X3 and the Habu (powered by Lazer), both of which I have no experience with so can't comment. Right handers might do worse than to consider these mice. I've only had it since early this year but I find my X5 to be very precise and comfortable. :)

Razer Lachesis, it's not a comfortable grip, however, unlike the g5, mx518, cybersnipa stinger, which all had better grips, those mouses you got hand cramps after long hours of gaming. The Razer Lachesis, I've never gotten one cramp.

The perfect mouse will depend on the individual user of course, but for me the Logitech G9 is about as good as it gets.

I have this mouse and I love it. Very comfortable. Has 2 buttons that you can set to what you want and 3 others for media players and zooming in and out on thing.

the logitech mx400 is great and pretty cheap. has tilt wheel and nice back and froward buttons which are great for gaming and web browsing. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/mice_pointers/mice/devices/191&cl=us,en
