Ok so I have got by with on board graphics for a while now but want to upgrade. This is purely for gaming, no video editing or anything else really. My system is an Acer Aspire M3641 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @2.40GHz RAM 4.00GB 32-bit Operating System. Has anyone got any tips on what I should upgrade to? I have read that I should buy a corsair 430w power supply but I really don't know where to begin. Any help would be great thanks!

It depends on your budget, I would go for either the GTX 560 or the Radeon HD 6850. Can you upgrade your PSU to 500watts?

get a good powersupply first, something like a 650 watt and then get a 460 gtx or a 6850. This would cost about $200. I also suggest overclocking your cpu.

thanks a lot. I'm in the UK so budget probably max £150 (=$230). What brand power supply do you recommend? and isnt 650w a bit much for what ive got?

Forget all that, take out the tape measure, and tell us how much space you got on the inside, GPU's are kinda big nowadays and a pre-built is always going to be cramped.

Looking at the technical specs on an Aspire M3641, I do not see any PCI Express slots. Are you positive you have one?

look at the specs for that tower, i'd say upgrading isnt really worth it, you'd either A) not have room or B) not have enough power or C) bottleneck a lot from the CPU
