Ask for her help in a game. Make sure she will be successfull and that you follow her recommendation, so she gets the credits for unlocking you. Find something she likes.

I would recommend, again, to play a game as City of Villains/Heroes, the character generation with all the customisation should help a little.

Human react like the Pavlod dog to postive and negative renforcements, we are aware of it and not at it mercy, but we still react the same. So I recommend youfind how gaming renforces her negatively so it doesn't anymore.

Above all, play HER games, not yours...that will help a LOT if gaming with her is a priority. If she dislike City of Heroes for any reason, don't try to press the matter, accept it and try another. You can always leave it installed so if she wants to retry it, she could, but never, under any circumstance, try to go against her tastes...

Get a Wii! I'm thinking there'll be at least one Wii game she'd find entertaining. I'm not sure however, if there'll be any game on the Wii that you will like or maybe there would be. I for one would probably find more than one game on the Wii that will entertain me, but I probably won't find a game on the Wii that'll make me want to buy a Wii. I say this because I've been more of PS1,PS2 & PC gamer for most of my life.

Turn her into gaming? Well, I suppose you could always mod her into various games as a character. That would sort of work.

Turn her to gaming? Hmm, that'd be hard if she's already against it. Good luck with that, I sincerely hope you can pull her from the dark side.

Don't do it. I got my wife hooked on Day of Defeat and now I have to fight her over DOD:Source and TF2. I only have time to play my games late at night when I can crawl out of bed without waking her- or when I play hooky from work. I'm considering buying a second computer, but I can't afford another one just yet....

Buy guitar hero, rock band, singstar or something like that. The sims or tycoon games are mainly played by girls... I hope. And remember no blood for first timers, they will just get scared or angry.

I wanted my wife to appreciate how you can get sucked into a game and so started her on Theme Hospital as a joke as she works in one. Worked up through the CSI adventure games, then on to Jack the Ripper, Still Life, Fahrenheit, Sherlock Holms, LAw & Order. Now she is hooked on adventure& Crimegames, just bought her DreamFall Longest Journey. We share a another hobby and the computer. Lots of understanding now as I have caught her at 3am just playing another 5 mins!!

yeah i know exactly how to do it.. buy a Wii.. i swear even my friends most anti gaming girlfriends love it.. On the pc side try play something with a great story line so she isn't bored to tears. My girlfriend loves Oblivion, Crysis, Condemed. But yeah, that might not work for you so get a Wii and play some mini games with her that she can play and work yourself up to pc gaming.

I think the idea is to simply play lots of different games in front of her and keep going until she sees one that's interesting. :P
Can't say I've lots of experience on this field though :P
Well, my sis used to pwn me and my brother at GTA2 mutliplayer. :) And my mom is a total Settlers 3 addict, partialy thanks to me. But that's about it. :P

Try starting with The Sims or something, that seems to work on most girls. :P

The best years of my marriage were when me and my wife played Daoc together, we had two PC's and I had a ranger and she a nightshade, we would go out ganking together. People think it is weird but it is more involved quality time together than vegging out in a movie theatre. Get her hooked on an MMO, they are addictive to people who don't usually even play games. Let her be a hawt night elf in Wow.

Start with Nintendo Wii. My sister bought her own Wii after playing some Wii Sports with me and only game she had played before was The Sims.

Like people said before me, buy a Wii!!!

My whole family plays on that thing, and most of them never even touched a PC or console! It's just a total different game experience, with the motion sensitive control system. It's not gaming, it's doing. I think what puts most people off of video games is that they just sit and push buttons on a keyboard/controller or move the mouse. They haven't got the feeling that theyare really doing something, so it's to unreal for those people. If you buy the Wii, Wii Sports is included and that game gets everybody hooked. It's just too bad that most Wii games don't really use the wireless motion controls of the Wii. But I have high hopes of playing Mario Kart Wii or Wii Fitness with my parents!

I still prefer my PC though...

Buy the sims 2 for her. Done. She's a gamer.

Although She would most likely lke the wii as well, I wouldn't recommend it over the sims 2 because you, yourself are less likely to find something you like on that console in comparison to any other console out there. And the sole fact that all girls love the sims.

Gaming is a hobby and I've learned that iIt's pretty difficult to turn people into concepts, like hobbies. I once tried to turn a neighbor into coin collecting and failed miserably. I managed to get him to transform into a 1976 nickel, but that just means he became a coin, and not coin 'collecting'. It's tough.

If you want to get your wife interested in gaming, that'd be much easier. Since you know what she likes, find games that cater to her interests. A lot of non-gamers find the basic games, like Tetris, fun and addicting. Start there.

I'm not sure if a violent shooter is the best way to start. People who dislike gaming usually dislike it because they think there's nothing else than blood and gore.

I dont see that happen...

Currently, my GF is not in friendly terms with my computer. Though she likes BF2 and enjoyed watching me play Silent Hunter 3
