Morrowind, Alpha Centauri, and AoE2 definitely still hold up today if you can get past their graphics (Morrowind has mods that can make it look more or less on par with Oblivion though). The others I haven't really played, although I'd imagine that Diablo 2 is still pretty good and Quake 2 would probably be worth playing as well. The only game on that list that definitely isn't worth your time is Everquest. I'm not even sure if the servers are still up for that game.

Dungeon keeper 2

Pharoah

Fallout

Age of empires 2

The_Ronin129

they are all pretty good (except for Diablo 2 because pure ARPG bores me), for my personal gaming preference, these four are still must play. AOE2 to a lesser degree.

DK2, Pharoah, and Fallout...are still among the best compared to recent games.

Diablo 2 is pure addictiveness, so long as you can get past the graphics...

For those voting Diablo II... have you guys even played online recently? There's nothing but bots spamming the chat with their crap and people that just rush... that's it, it's so lame!

Ok, so i just got a bunch of old pc games from someone, and since i have never played most of them, i'm wondering if any of them are still good.

Elder scrolls morrowind: GoTY edition Not really, it has a unique atmosphere but it is missing a lot of what we expect from this type of game today. I'm sure a lot will disagree but I've found its mostly nostalgia speaking.

Alpha Centuari Don't play these types of games.

Quake 2 Weakest Quake, you are better playing 1 or 3.

Command and conquer generals Don't play RTS.

Dungeon keeper 2 No idea.

Diablo 2 Yes but it is very dated visually (the art direction is to blame). Expect some of the modern things like auto gold pickup and high resolutions to be missing but it has most of what you expect from a ARPG.

Heretic II Yes, the controls need to be remapped but otherwise the game holds up great.

Pharoah Only played 2 but it was cool.

Mechwarrior 2 Holds up well if you have played the others. The genre itself is clunky but based on you asking I'm assuming you know that.

Everquest Don't bother. The game is really unforgiving and not worth the hassle.

Fallout Extremely dated and has a horrendous UI. Despite all the faults the choice and consequences hold up fairly well. If you want to play a game of this type your best off getting Arcanum.

Stronghold legends Didn't like the demo when I played it so can't really speak on it. My friend swears the game is the best thing since sliced bread if you are into it.

Age of empires 2 Don't play RTS.

Any of these still good?

Out of those I would play Diablo 2, Heretic 2, Mechwarrior 2 and Stronghold.

Fallout, one of the best RPGs i've ever played. And Alpha Centauri if you like the Civilization games.

A truly good game is always worth playing, just like a truly good song is always worth listening to. It's not a matter of age, it's a matter of quality.
Most of those games are considered good, some even must-plays. I'd just say - try them all out and see for yourself. I, for one, loved Quake II and Heretic II, especially the latter.

I found the combat in morrowind to be terrible, but you can still sink a couple of weeks into it if you enjoy exploration

Age of empires 2 is also still pretty good.

Command and conquer generals is also pretty good and isn't really that old :)
