Hi all, I am wondering if anyone knows any PC RPG games that are similar to Final Fantasy, where you can walk through different maps and monsters will attack you along the way? It would be great if they are turn-based battles as well. Thanks for help!
Spirit Engine 2 - it's a f2p indie game but the plot and combat is awesome if you can get past the fact that it's all in 2D. If you're looking for jrpgs though pretty much 99% of them are all on the consoles - and lately a good chunk of them never even see the outside of japan.
Well you have Final Fantasy 7 & 8on the PC, Last Remnant was really good, and the Phantasy Star games. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head.
A number of games made by RPG Maker and similar tools have been commercially released in digital download form. You can find many of them on Gamers Gate and Impulse. A few examples are Laxius Force, and Aveyond. These games have that Super Nintendo RPG feel, for sure.
