I recieved a Pioneer BDR-208BDK Blu-Ray player as a gift but it is an OEM model so no cables or software were included. I was looking at SATA cables and some advertise 6Gb/s. Does it matter what kind I go with? Also, there is no softwarre. Anyrecomendations on software for making back-ups and playing Blu-rays. paid or (legal) free are fine with me I just want a good one.

As for software, you might need to just let windows search for drivers for the drive itself. Once the drive is working right, I'm pretty sure Windows Media Player, or any other program you use that can play DVDs from a DVD drive, will play Blu Ray movies just fine.
