Any way to get a refund for this?

So I bought dead rising 2 and after going through the stupid DRM issues I find I actually cannot run the game in the open areas, it looks like a slideshow that changes every 2 seconds, its ridiculous.

Now with my laptop (its all I have these days since my desktop died) meets the minimum requirements but it just doesn't have the power to play the game even on lowest settings in outside environments.

Is there anyway to get a refund for false advertising or something? I mean it says I can run it, but I can't play it its like 3 fps, once I get outside I die because I cannot dodge zombies grabs.

Geforce 9700m GT (512mb)

4GB ram

It is fine in the indoor areas but outside my fps just completely dies it took me 20 minutes to walk what should have been 3 max. Yes I realise this, I was skeptical about buying it but it just looks so fun and it is... I hate my laptop lol.

I did buy it on steam though and thats where I got the requirements, I will contact them tomorrow.

There is barely any customizable options man, I will tell you what you get, 2 secs ill load game up and look.

Edit : Resolution, Vsync , Blur effects, shadow quality, zombie quality, and AA settings.

If I had a vision setting and could play it with short I think it would run fine...

Yup Vsync off, blur off, shadow/zombie quality low , aa x2 (thats the lowest). Its annoying because inside it runs fine, once I get on the strip it just dies and makes walking so painful seeing as running early on is slow as it is.

IMO the game doesnt even look that good and I can run games that look better on med settings... I wish they made better customisation and I think I would be fine, a little fps drop is fine but the rate it is at the moment is unreal.

multisampling is AA, and so you can turn it off. Texture Filering you can go Trilinear, there you have the lowest. also, turn the resolution to the lowest the game allows.

outdoor area is a much bigger map than each indoor one, your mobile c2d probably just couldn't cut it. also, of course, most integrated graphic chip is worse than a 8800GTS.

Why are you assuming I pirate? I actually havn't pirated a PC game ever. I buy all my games, For pc at least.

Yes think of it like this many components in your laptop are smaller and confined so heat is an issue as well as component size,

with a laptop your scarificing a degree of performance, look at the HDD for intance , due to their smaller platter diameter,a 2.5" drive will not reach the same absolute media velocity as 3.5" hard drive , although the relative rotation speed may be the same (5,400 or 7,200 RPM). i have yet to see many laptop drives at (7,200 at RPM)

This is the main reason why laptop drive`a usual max out at less than 60mb/s. Compare to a 3.5" drive's 115 MB/s maximum faster if you have a raptor drive. The better the transfer rates, the faster you'll be able to start Windows / applications and play games, or copy files from/to the drive.

Alright thanks for clearing it up :) saving up for a new gaming rig atm but with placements and rent its not coming quick. This laptop will have to do for now.
