My PC got hit by a power surge...and windows got messed up...big time.

After spending days trying to find a solution that will not delete all my data...I had no other choice but to reinstall windows and that is what I did.

Is there any way that I can get any picture, MS Word and .pdf files back?

I would gladly pay for any software that would be able to recover my deleted files...its a family PC so it had 100's of vacational and everyday photos...so I'd really like to get those back.

Well thanks for the help.

did you do a repair install or a complete reformat? If you did the latter then no.

You could try this restoration program its free

http://www.aumha.org/a/recover.php

use the download directly link.

Its worked for me before.

If its possible you might want to save to a different drive to prevent overwriting the lost files
