Well, I was wondering what your guy's thoughts were on ways to enhance my gaming experience. Do special "Gaming Mice" (:?) make any difference in my experience? Will it help me be better in my games? Is it worth it to get some "Gaming Speakers" or "Gaming Keyboards"? How are they any better than what I already have? And are there any other ways to enhance my gaming experience?

EDIT: Also, what would you guys recommend?

A nice big monitor and surround sound are always good, but there's no point buying a special keyboard or mouse. Anything that moves smoothly with two buttons and a scroll wheel is fine.

I would say for multiplayer shooter games, a gaming mouse is a must. Other than that though I think most of it is personal pride. Do I notice the extra milisecond of response time on my keyboard? No, but I know its there and thats enough for me. Just like cars. Do people drive there porsche's at 180 mph? No but they know they could.

They've got all types of racing sim wheels, joysticks for flight games, the gaming mice give you quicker response, there's things like the novint falcon and nueral impulse actuator, there even a vest and helmet that vibrates when you get hit.

Depends on the game. I never really use my extra buttons on my mouse, but I do have macro buttons on my Razer Tarantula keyboard. Those come in handy sometimes. But not often. Not really worth the extra money honestly. If they were cheaper well then yeah. Depends on what kind of deal you can get.

I really recommend a gaming mouse as they are not just more precise but also much more comfortable for long gaming sessions. As for keyboard, you should look for one that has good grip and feels good when typing. Unless you are a hardcore WoW player, you don't really need to macro keys in Logitech gaming keyboards so you should rather look at Saitek Eclipse. It's basically an ordinary USB keyboard but it feels great.

For mouse you should try the different options yourself as every hand is unique. Some prefer Razer designs and some Logitech.

One word: BEER

For real, any game you play is going to be 10X more fun when you play it while drinking a tall cold one.

For gaming, I recommend atleast getting an MX518, and a 5.1 speaker setup. Expensive keyboards have nothing except a nice aesthetic while gaming mouses actualy provide good benefits.

Get two exrta monitors and run a triplehead. I have one and it's just plain awesome for racing games and shooters.

Decent Screen, Decent Soundsystem and Decent computer.
Those are the most important elements, well besides Mouse and Keyboard but they doesn't have to be costy.
I'm using the Keyboard to my very old Computer that had Windows 95 on it. Works like a charm.

For speakers i would recommend a good creative sound card and any of the $150+ logitech 5.1 surround speakers. As for a keyboard I really like the Razer Tarantula but its really over priced, and most of its features are really just useless in most games (like the 10 backlite macro keys.). Stick with a cheapo keyboard but get a nice comfortable mouse.

Surround Sound Headset for the obvious reason, knowing where sounds come from ( Less messy than speakers and still awesome).

Logitech G15 keyboard, Macro buttons, supports most games, and an LCD screen that supports most games and teamspeak/ventrillo type things.

G5 Mouse .... 2000DPI ... if you dont know, thats ALOT a very very accurate mouse.

Dual Screens ( Not a biggy, 1 nice monitor would be awesome, just like a HDTV. ).

Basically, make your PC your media centre, dont believe the console **** a PC has so much more potential in this area.
