did anyone buy guild wars 2 on green man gaming? i bought it for the promo price, are they going to let us preload the game? or do we have to wait till it launch's before we can download it?
If you preordered it you should have gotten a key that you take and activate on the Guild Wars 2 website. There you'll have your account and the ability to download the client. I did that and now have GW2 sitting on my computer. It seems as though I wont be needing to delete the beta client as they seem to just be updating it to final or launch state. I bought it on GMG but they specifically said that it wasnt a Capsule game and that downloads and such would be handled by outside entities (i.e. ArenaNet themselves).
They had disclaimer on the GMG page when it was on sale a week or so ago stating that you would not get into the beta/head-start if you bought it from GMG. I think this has been the case for the last two weeks at least and probably longer. Probably because ArenaNet is selling the electronic version directly through the website and want to encourage people to buy directly form them.
even if you don't have access to the headstart, you should've gotten a code to use with your GW2 account. if you log into your account on the official site, you'll be able to download the client.
Actually I don't even think you need the code to download the client. I was downloading it before I purchased the electronic version about a week ago. You should just be able to create an account and download the client from the account page.
I bought GW2 from GMG but that was when Arena Net made it available, I think in May or June, don't remember well. Whatever, they must have gave you a key for register your game. But I don't know if that still holds true now.
