Anyone else disappointed by Bioshock's ending? *spoilers*

I just finished it today and the game was great, there's no denying that. But i kinda felt letdown by the (good)ending.

the final fight with fontaine was just pure generic, anticlimatic trash. i was doing it on hard and i didnt even break a sweat killing him. God i was so disappointed, and dont get me started on the endcutscene. There was nothing meaningful about it and i thought there would be some metal gear esque twist, but no just a short clip of the little sisters living normal lives. i didnt really form a bond with the characters so i didnt feel any real emotion (a la metal gear, final fantasy, ico). in a way the antagonist was just like master chief without the helmet. i saw the other endings on youtube and they werent that great either.

anyone else feel this way?

I don't really expect much from video game endings anymore. The last good ending to a game that I can remember is Mafia's ending.Mike1234234

I thought the ending (video) was really nice... but too short.

The fighting was horrible... it was just a simple boss... I was looking for something more developt... like water getting inside the room, having to get the sisters and run to a bathsphere with everything around you exploding and flooding...

Final Boss was way too easy. Playing on hard, it wasn't even a challenge. I got hit about 1 time.

Hmmm....I'm not going to even comment anymore, but I just wanted to point that out to you sense you didn't seem to read the whole topic name.

for me, the ending was just the full stop on the sentence this game was a disappointment.

they should not have drawn any comparison between system shock 2 and bioshock at any time, and calling it a spiritual successor was misleading and untrue, the ending was just one entry on a long list of areas where the game could've been better

i've played this game twice, experienced both the good and evil ending. quite frankly, the only thing i was disappointed with was the final boss fight, coz of its simplicity. i played it on hardest difficulty and did it with ease. then again, i am a seasoned FPS player, have been playing them for 10 years at least. so i guess i found it easier. players new to the genre would have a good challenge i rekon. the rest of the game was amazing and groundbreaking, both in visuals and gameplay. and if you have a decent 5.1 system...the sounds are sick. Bioshock deserves all 10 out of 10 points it received IMO.

heres the thing about video game endings

just be thankful youre not back in the old nintendo days where you had to spend hundreds of hours replaying games because there were no saves only to see 'congrats!'

the games should have just came with a hammer to smash your nards with while you play
