Well, if you arent into diablo, starcraft or warcraft, I don't know why you would be watching Blizzard so carefully. You obviously aren't a fan, so whatever game they release should'nt be much of an issue for you.
I don't understand your problem.
For us fans of Blizzard, we hope they continue making the same quality titles in the same exciting universes.
Bring on SC2
Bring on D3
If you don't liek it, then there are thousands of other games out there for you to play. Speak with your wallet. It's alot more convincing than making a pointless post on an internet forum
Just because your not into Diablo, doesnt mean it shouldnt be made. There is a HUGE Diablo fanbase, i personally cant wait. Its hands down my fav sereis for Blizzard. Get a few friends and Diablo can be awesome fun.kozzy1234
Well duh, it was inveitable they were going to make it. I just said I had wished it had been something else.
How am I a fanboy?
I only like their Diablo universe.
It's like if another (god there's so many) MMO came out, and i started a thread like this, asking if anyone else is disapointed with yet another way to waste years of life. And you come in, going "Yeah!! another MMO!".
I'd have no reason to call you a fanboy. Just as you have no reason to call me one and completely disregard my post because of it. Go play Wow and leave Diablo 3 for the rest of us excited people.
Nibroc420
If you had made a thread like this if they had announced an MMO, I would have sticked to the damn topic and said "No I'm not dissapointed." There would be no reason for me to gloat to someone who didn't want an MMO, like how you pretty much did in your previous post.
The only games that I do like and only care that are from Blizzard are StarCraft and its expansion pack Brood War and Warcraft 2, yes that WC2, none of this WC3 or WoW crap. I could careless for Diablo and I actually think Diablo is rather overrated if you ask me.
I'm not disappointed per sey but I think Blizzard needs to make a new IP IMO.

You already said that, I get it.
nope i've waited far to long for Diablo 3 and starcraft II to come out. and seeing as u dont like any of blizzard games beside WOW what where u expecting blizzard has a massive fan base that want sequels to there old games. why should blizzard make a new IP when making sequels is a sure fire way to make lots of money. and knowing blizzard the games will be high quality games that blizzard fans will enjoy,
so if it was DIablo 3 or a new IP it would be DIablo 3 but i wouldnt mind if after blizzard was done with this make a new IP.

Finally, a non-fanboy post. THanks!
It would be interesting to see how you felt if a PC series you enjoyed had the next game of its installment coming out. Would you be looking forward to it over something else Mr. Soprano? I thought so.
You can't blame those of us in that position, it makes sense.
Personally, I have no interest in Warcraft or World of warcraft games, I would have been dissapointed if Warcraft IV was announced, but I wouldn't run anyone down about it.

Okay well obviously you're a thick-headed fanboy so I'm not going to argue with you, like I said, I was paying attention to see if they announced the new MMO they're working on, because I had heard rumors that it could be the announcement. Also, I'm interested in WOW, so you can't say I had no reason to watch it. Hence why I was paying attention for the announcement (WOW=mmo).
So you want a new MMO when they're already working on WOTLK.
Yes. Blizzard only has 3 main universes. You have to understand that they dont make a game each year (like milking Sims, Final Fantasy, etc), they make each of their game with great quality. I know that a lot of people want something new/innovative, but there are millions (MILLIONS) of fans of both, SC and Diablo universes, and since they both havent received a sequel in 10ish years, its pretty fair for them to announce the two games.
Plus, they are supposedly working on a Next Gen MMO (Thats neither Diablo, SC, WC), so you have that to look forward to.
Note; sorry about grammar, just woke up.

GOOD GOD there's too many fanboys/Blizzard-whores in this thread to reply to all of you guys. So I'm going to have to excuse myself, this thread is lost. Oh, one last thing, WOTLK is an expansion, not a new MMO. Obviously I wanted a new MMO, not an expansion. Dumbass.SilentSoprano
Your calling everyone else fanboys and yet you are acting like a spoiled fanboy yourself, shooting down everyone that doesnt agree with you 100%, grow up.
Did you expect everyone who came into this thread to agree with you? Not everyone is fans of MMOs.
Would you have been satisfied if a Diablo MMO was announced instead? I am not disappointed with a Diablo 3 - the idea of something being added or changed is awesome, since every other action RPG I've played is just a knock off of Diablo 2.
As for Blizzard using the same IPs - it is not like they are releasing the same game each time. Look at the advancement in gameplay and lore from Warcraft -> Warcraft 2 -> Warcraft 3. I'd rather have a few well developed IPs than many that are not.
That said, I do think they should work on a new IP relativley soon. Its not like they can't afford it.

I don't want everyone to agree with me 100%, I just want some people to acknowledge the damn fact that Blizzard keeps using the same franchises over and over again and I don't see why people wouldn't want a fresh change.
It's blizzard's way of rewarding its gamers, making quality games that take long to develop.
But instead of whining at blizzard to create universes, you can always look elsewhere, for example Bioware is a quality dev. that's really into innovations. they went from Baldur's gate 2, to NWN, then left the forgotten realms into Star wars KOTOR, then Jade empire, an asian-themed RPG, then back to sci-fi Mass effect, and apparently they're working on Dragon Age for PC which is supposedly completely original. there's one Dev who you might like.

I do like them, they're a great developer and I've enjoyed many of their games. See that's what I'm talking about, Bioware manages to make great games (KOTOR, Mass Effect), come out with sequels to those great games (KOTOR 2, Mass Effect 2[inveitable]), but yet they still come out with new franchises/IPs (Jade Empire, Dragon Age). I just don't see why Blizzard can't do that.
[QUOTE="Nibroc420"]Because there's a reason we love the game.
Look, why don't we go ahead, and change Diablo a bit.
Now, you main Character Can be.... a dude in a spacesuit. Diablo can be.. a monkey..with wings. and you get a gun that shoots... rainbows. But we're tired with the camera angle too, lets make it an fps. ok, there's the new diablo 3.
Ok, now unless i was planning to be high on acid for the next month while i played it. Diablo 3 wou;dnt be entertaining to me. If you change a game too much it's not the same game.SilentSoprano
You must be high on acid already to think the same **** over and over again is entertaining...

WOW is constantly changing, it's so much more different now than it was before the Burning Crusade. But yea, it is repetitive after a while, which is exactly why I play it on and off, taking like 3 month breaks. I'm not even sure if I'm going to go back to it, but I'm still interested in it.

Doesn't make sence to me either.
Why would you be watching a developer that makes games you don't like.In hopes that they'll finally make one you do?
Nibroc420
You answered your own question there...
Diablo 3 is a terrific example of what they call the stagnation of gaming. 10 years of concept development and all they come up with a is a minor adjustment to the hot bar
[QUOTE="Begemott"]Pretty simple. If you're thinking they're milking the franchises, then you're pretty 'durr durr'. Actually, add your age in the next reply. Ill be suprised if its higher than 13.SilentSoprano
Yea, I never said they were milking the franchises. GOD GUYS HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY THIS, I SAID I HAD HOPED THEY ANNOUNCED A NEW FRANCHISE/MAYBE MMO, im not saying I want them to discontinue their other games, geezus I might as well be posting this in the Diablo 3 Forums, you guys are crazy. Oh and Begemott, I bet you hope I'm no higher than 13, you little pedo.

Illogical.
I'm happy it's diablo, everyone knew a sequel was comeing, and here it is.
SilentSoprano
Another fanboy.... Like I said, I'M INTERESTED IN WOW, I LIKE ONE OF THEIR GAMES. Just because I don't like most of their games doesn't mean I shouldnt be interested in their announcemnt, and like I told the other guy, I was hoping it was the new MMO they're supposedly working on.
So everyone that doesn't agree with you is a fanboy??? Go away.

I don't see anyone suggesting otherwise.

That's because manyof BioWare's IPs prior to Mass Effect were not owned by BioWare - D&D, Star Wars... Their latest IP, Mass Effect, is an original IP owned by BioWare, and lo! They are making a trilogy. That's one Mass Effect game for every Diablo game right there.
A company that tends to outsource is obviously going to have many more franchises on the go than a company that develops its own IPs internally.
When companies own their own IPs, and when they are popular, they stick with them. BioWare is only an exception because in the past they haven't owned several of the IPs they developed games for. It's hard to say for certain, but we may see a pronounced change in BioWare's development styIe now they are (apparently) focusing on their own IPs - the Sonic DS game notwithstanding, I suppose.
Blizzard is guilty of recycling its IPs, to be sure, but so is everyone else who owns their own IPs. Valve, id, Epic, Relic, Rockstar - when you actually get right down to it, most (of the best) developers are pretty damn one note. It's called responding to market forces by proving a supply to satisfy a demand. It's what companies do.
And there is one hell of a demand for Blizzard's IPs.
