Been buying games from Steam forever, now all of a sudden they want email verification before I can buy DA Awakenings on sale today. They say they sent the email to verify but I am notreceiving one. Grrrrrrr.

i bought dead space yesterday and i didnt need an email verification. seems odd. and on a side note is the digital deluxe edition of DA worth it?

It asked me for email verification 2 days ago when i bought bounout paradise, i thought it was weird too.

I got asked also after I've bought over 80+ games, but I'm glad they did. At least I know they do randomly check on my security for my account. Not that big of a hassle and to me worth the few extra mouse and keystrokes.

E mail verification has been an option for a while as a counter against phishing. It seems that they made it mandatory now. Very good thing if you ask me. Might finally stop the scams. That is, if no one is stupid enough to give his steam details AND his email password.
