It's going to be a great year for PC gaming.
But I just can't wait for Black Mesa to (hopefully) grace my dekstop this year.
Anyone else on here looking forward to it?
Do you think it will be the remake you were looking forward to?

they said quarter 4 of 2009, then changed it to later.

hopefully "later" means quarter 1 of 2010

and yes, I am soooo stoked for this. Its going to be so awesome, ive actally been playing the original in anticipation of it.

I know. I tried really hard not to be let down as I threw out my 09 calendar, but like MrB said, they were aiming for the end of 09, so maaaaaybe.....

I can't say I'm terribly excited about it, but it would be a pretty interesting novelty to see it in a different engine.

what I am looking forward too most of all is their own spin on things.

this game is far more than a scene by scene, texture by texture, remake of the original.

I mean, I know a headcrab is a headcrab, and a marine a marine, but I just want to see how they changed it up.

Same here. Not a computerized up-scaling, but a hand-made (so to speak), from-the-ground-up redux of something that I already know is amazing.

You all know this has been in development for ever and has had like a bunch of release dates right? It looks like an awesome mod but I'm certainly not psyched for it. About as psyched as I am for the next Song of Ice and Fire novel...ok that's a lie I'm still pretty psyched for that book.

Don't lose faith guys, it can still happen. Remember - The Nameless mod took 7 years to make, and it turned out to be epic!

Will play. No question about that. I am waiting patiently, more than being hyped. There is a good article of the progress in an Oz PC Mag this month. No timeframe for release, but it will be released. That's good enough for me. 8)

As long as it's done right, they can take as long as they need. I didn't think they were going to have it finished by the end of 09, or '08 for that matter, but I honestly think that they will be done putting on the finishing touches this year. If it is '11, then so be it; I'll still be eagerly waiting for it, but I have a feeling I wont have to.

I've been psyched for years.

This is turning into a DNF clone, they've been working on it for years, with very little information since 2 years ago.

Granted it is a mod, and therefore people are doing this in their spare time for no pay! Though i am still hopeful this will be released this year and is going to be, probably, the best mod ever created!
