Sure the original was a little rough around the edges but the game was really amazing once you got into it. I'm kind of bummed out that there is not going to be a sequel.

I've played through it three times, each time the experience was wildly different with entire characters and levels being changed or excised/added in each one, and I loved the dialogue system, the RPG mechanics and the advent of choice I had, like in Deus Ex (even if it was unbalanced and not too free at times).

So I'd play the hell out of a sequel as long as they made it right, gave it a graphical overhaul, some polish and more freedom (the Hitman template should seriously be used for any Spy game).

Id love them to do it..How ever they said they will never make another do to the poor responce at the time..Its not until later people realised what a fun good rpg it actually is..Its a shame really how people think the mechanics of the guns are broken when there not..Its a rpg people dont realise in this game..Its not straight out shooter like cod..You lvl to improve your gun play...Really wish it wouldve sold for them..They dont even admit they made it..On there web page they left it completely out when they advertise there games..Its sad really im not sure why there ashamed of this game was so fun..There doing project eternity a baldurs gate kind of game..So keep an eye out for it..

I just couldn't get into the first one. Controls were atrocious, animations were bad and the dialogue was the worst.

The controls are bad but the aspects of the game that are relevant to the RPG genre in specific are done very well and a sequel with a bigger budget could easily fix any of the polish issues it currently has. How can you be a forum goer and not play Alpha Brotocol?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jv04rQNRfts&hd=1&t=7s Get Alpha Protocol 2 on kickstarter now!

Yes! So bad!
Was a game I was expecting to be bad but ended up having a blast with it. Remeber expecting ME2 to be way better at the time, but I had much more fun with AP.

We wont get a sequel though :(

It had great story, good choices, interesting characters and good dialogue. The animations sucked and there was some gameplay bugs but other then that I really enjoyed it. Love when games surprise ya.

I don't need a sequel, just another RPG that can achieve as high a level of choice-consequence role-playing as in AP.

as of now, I don't see any other developer than Obsidian is up for the challenge.

Yes. AP was a terrific game and with all of the kinks worked out a sequel has the chance to be phenomenal.

Belongs in the sh*tlist of psuedo RPG-Action hybrids, along with every other Obsidian game in existence. The fact that it's even considered remotely RPG is a f*cking insult.

I tried it, but I quit after I found that I just could not do the hacking mini-game. It wasn't a matter of competence, my eyes just couldn't cope with the way it worked.

The idea of AP is good, but it's an idea that's been done better by other developers.

As RPGs, yes. My frustration stems from the esteem bestowed upon Obsidian as the leading authority on the genre. Otherwise I couldn't care less.

the problem with alpha protocol was despite its great concept and impressive choice based system it was littered with elemental gameplay flaws and frustrations. i gave up on it half way through, annoyed by its wasted potential because it could have been great.

i'd love another game in the same vein but with much more polish and attention paid to the fundamental gameplay elements

I'd buy it.

It is a bit rough around the edges but, as far as "cinematic-story-heavy" action-rpgs go, it's probably the best one I've played in a long time. Get rid of the idiotic mini-games, give it a little more time in the oven, and the game would be great.

They're the only people who even bother putting in moral choices and RPG mechanics in their games anymore. They aren't the best but they're one of the only ones left.

AP is up there with games like Vampire Bloodlines in the "games I love in spite of the fact that they weren't actually that good" category. I would love to see another (preferably more refined) AP title.

Not much can be done about evil digital sales bullying us into buying games we don't even have the time to play.

Definitely, Surprised the hell out of me when I played it for the first time. It's a diamond that hasn't been polished enough but had they spent some more months on it to work out the kinks then it would've been grand. But the game as it is, is still a experience I recommend if you like spies, choices that affect the game as you play and even how things play out at the end.
