Anyone have any experience with or know if the ASUS M3N78 PRO is a decent mobo?

I have a Phenom II 940BE that I originally had ordered a Biostar TF8200 Hybrid Sli boardto go with but that board had Bios problems... I RMA'd and went to replace it with the same one but they don't seem to be selling them now for some reason. (Maybe getting a bad 1 was lucky on my part...) Anyways, I went ahead and ordered this, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131320I know it's not the top of the line, And Hybrid Sli is on it's way out, (I just use the extra gpu for Physx stuff sometimes.)But here in another 6 months I plan on getting another GPU and getting a true SLi mobo setup so....

I'm basically just wondering if there are any tweaks I should look out for on this board that will give me the best performance for my setup, And any posssible problems that I might want to watch out for when setting it up?

Oh BTW, Just to make sure of something... This is the board I am using right now, Which SEEMS to be working fine. (But I don't think it is utilizing the CPU to it's fullest) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813135085 J

UST to make sure though... The ASUS board IS better than at least theECS board if not the Biostar as well right?

EDIT: Srry, I dunno if it's needed but the rest of the system specs are, (Well the important stuff...)

No opinions guys? Maybe I posted this a lil to late last night for anyone to see, so im givin it a lil bump b4 it gets pushed back into no-man's land......

Anyways, I just hope it is a DECENT board and there won't be any unexpected problems with it upon setup.... The biggest thing I'm wondering about is if I will need to flash my Bios to get it to recognize the 940 CPU, Hopefully it will work right out of the box.

I took a look at that board on newegg and the reviews I thought were a red flag for me. I read through several and while Asus had a support team respond to many of them the fact that the board is having issues more often than not I think is reason for concern. You might be better off looking for another mobo. Asus is a great company and I used a P5NSLI mobo for 4 years without a problem (now i'm with evga). I think the reviews on newegg deserve some merit. Try to find another board that suits your needs, there are so many to choose from.

Do you have your heart set on AMD?

Yeah, I saw those reviews as well..... I read almost every page of those reviews and while there were alot of complaints there seemed to be just as many "This board is great" ones as well. I'm willing to bet that most of the people having problems were probably suffering from the Ol' ID 10 T errors... lol. I have come to find that most of the users on that site that give reviews have almost no idea that it's they're lack of ability and knowledgethat's getting in the way. BUT, If I happen to be one of the unfortunate ones as well then I guess I'll send it back for a different board. Like you I have used ASUS boards for years, and have never had any problems that didn't come from my own mistakes. (Or damage during shipping lol).

'Fingers crossed' though...

If you mean the CPU? Yeah, I already have the Phenom II 940 x4 BE.
