Just read PC Gamer review of "Sins". I believe I will go get a copy of it tomorrow. I am not a fan of these types of games, I have little patience. Give me a frag gun, plasma cannor or grappler and let me shoot the place up. However, Space Rangers 2 got me hooked for a couple weeks.
Give it a shot, I am.
is it good and ive never played turn based stratagy before whats that all aboutnotchewable
Well, it's good that you haven't played turn-based strat games...because Sins is not a TBS. It's a full on RTS. That being said, the scope involved is huge. If you've ever played Conquest: Frontier Wars, it's a lot like that. And yes, the game is awesome if you enjoy slower paced games.
Its not turn-based, but it still has that style of turn-basedism - manage a empire, conquer territories, engage in diplomacy, so while it plays in real time, it feels turn-based.Its a overall good game, somewhat addictive, but definately not the best strategy game out there, Id recommend it though if your looking for a rts with a epic scope.
If you do get the game, I hope you like space pirates, because you'll be dealing with them a lot.

If you want to just kill things, I doubt this is the game for you, the battles are absolutely spectacular, hell, it's like supreme commander, once you're done building everything, the battles are so damn Epic it's amazing.

Just to clear this up a bit, all the aspects you mentioned are in RTSes (Rise of Nations, Empire Earth, Conquest: Frontier Wars). So while Sins doesn't have you build specific buildings to advance in the tech tree, you construct research labs so you can research the tech tree (just like in Rise of Legends). I'm not entirely sure about the whole TBS feel as I haven't felt that in the time I've been playing it (bought it the moment it was available for digital download)...instead, I just feel that it's a combination of Rise of Legends teching and the gameplay of Conquest: Frontier Wars.

True, it has the 4X and "manage a empire" elements of a TBS, and the real-time, "manage a army" elements of a RTS, and yeah a number of RTS games have the same aspects, Rise of Nations and Empire Earth first amongst them, I was just focusing more on the army focused RTSs that make up the core of Real-Time Strategy, as opposed to the real-time strategy games like Rise of Nations that have a larger scope. I havent played Rise of Legends or Conquest Frontier Wars, so I cant make a comparison between these games and Sins.
I also bought Sins the day it became available for digital download, Ive played seven full games so far,and from what ive played it is a RTS first and foremost, combined with 4X elements, and allusions to your typical TBS game.
