Only in games where it feels naturally that down means up and up means down - flight sims (pushing those thingies on the wings down means going up... and vice versa).SunnySimantov
Same here.
inverted here, nothing else will do.-wardrobe-
Me too. Not sure where I picked it up, I think maybe Duke3d had it as a default setting (which I played A LOT) but I never bothered to check so far. Maybe someone here knows? Anyway, I tried not doing it but it just doesn't feel right. I could probably loose the habit if I persisted but every game has the option so I always use it..
[QUOTE="Skullheart"]How can one play with inverted mouse controls? Maybe for flight simulators, but first person shooters? I don't see it happening, lol.BLKR4330
It always sort of made sense to me; pulling the mouse back is like pulling your head back to look up..
Exactly, just as in a flight sim, pulling back on the stick makes you go up. It just kinda makes sense. Furthermore, if you look at it from a science perspective, inverted aiming in an FPS is actually technically easier than normal aiming. The reason for this is that it is much easier to pull something than to push it, so it's actually easier to drag the mouse downward than it is to push it up. Therefore, downward movement of the mouse should point your view in whichever direction it would be most beneficial to aim. In really "flighty" games like Quake or UT, you get attacked from above a lot, so it makes sense that you'd want to be able to look up as swiftly as possible. In games like Battlefield or CS, on the other hand, there isn't much of a vertical element to the environments, so it probably doesn't make much difference. My $0.02, anyway. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. ;)This is turning into quite an interesting topic. Are we inverted-mousers really such a minority? I would really love to see this thread grow at least a few more pages so we can find out. What I don't understand is the amount of hate some people have for inverted aiming. It's just a checkbox, guys. :PJN_Fenrir
Because some games have it default to that.. What kind of FREAK would make it default? I mean, of course the option is cool.. It's a good thing.. But when they make it default to inverted mouse action? HA! How disgusting! Appealing to minorities, those bastards
playing regular is very difficult for me, I have been gaming inverted ever since I first started mouse looking, 10 years ago on quake 2
to switch back to regular would take me a week or more to get used to
