It does have it quirks!
I would never use it for a multiplayer fps i took seriously! Reason being it is harder due to your eyes having to focus at different lengths. The immersion factor and gfx are better. but your frag count will be reduced as a result taking a split second to focus, that isnt needed in 2d. Would be immense in the future if they released a 3d only game, or servers.
Concerning the compatibility with games. It does indeed have many quirks with many games. Your example about crysis is spot on. This game is actually the worse game to play in 3d. Many things rendered at wrong depths etc. Other games can be perfect, except for crosshair being stuck at wrong depth therefore making unplayable.
However when a game works well eg the two i mentioned plusbad company 2, tombraider, gta 4, batman etc... they are simply amazing. This list is getting longer. So in my eyes it is worth it for these games, plus that there is alot more games being made with it in mind. Currently people will pay alot of money for a dx11 card when there are far fewer games that utilise it than 3d. In my opinion 3d when done properly is far more immersive and better looking than even the heaven 2 benchmark with all its tessellation.
So to me it is the opposite to a waste of money, infact i compare it to the days i bought my first 3dfx card. It was the beginning of something BIG. Back then it only worked with games written for it (glide), but was such a leap (even though not all games where compatible) it never felt like i wasted my money, like many others.

"pojector = 90" display? 720 p = max out??? people do have their very own peculair sense of grandeur."
hmmmm, what is your problem? I am very aware 720p isnt very high, hence "only 720p". I meant max out as in all sliders to max except for aa. I have a feeling you knew what i meant. Ireally likethe projector, not just because of the 3d, but because it actually costs £500 compared to £1000-2000 for a half decent lcd that doesnt even do 3d at half the size. For 3d especially, size really makes a difference. I see this as a cheap option for many people to get into 3d who have the right circumstances to use it in home. Alot cheaper, and the overall result is infact better than lcd due to lcd crosstalk when viewing 3d. To me a win/win situation.
