I did this setting today, I got around 1-10fps.
3.2Ghz C2D CPU
2GB of RAM PC6400 800Mhz
8800GTS 640MB a bit OCed.

w/o AA, at 1280 and most settings on High, rest on Med I get 30-40fps.

I wonder if the 4gb ram helps. I got 4gb but I only have 32 bit Ultimate installed right now. Will reformat and upgrade to 64bit when my 3870 gets in... tommorrow I think.

8800GTX 768MB
E6750 Core 2 Duo

2Gb Crucial Ballistix 1066MhZ Ram

150Gb Raptor 10,000 RPM HDD

1680x1050

All settings Very High

40 - 60FPS

1680x1050

All settings Very High

16xQ AA Multisampling

20 - 40 FPS

1680x1050

All settings Very high

16xQ AA Super Sampling

5 - 15 FPS

Supersampling vs. Multisampling is the deal breaker. Super sampling looks better (marginally) but takes a HUGE hit on FPS. Personally I perfer to play with AA off and get smooth 60 FPS, dont really notice the jaggies much.

P.S. This is running XP with the cvar mods to get very high on Dx 9 (looks nearly identical to Dx10 but you get better performance because you dont have the Vista hog eating your resources)

You can get around 4gig ram running 32-bit windows. It's over 4gig that you need to run 64-bit.

I am running 1920x1200 medium textures and the game looks beautiful. I wish I knew how to see FPS and I would report what I am getting, but the framerate is very acceptable, it only freezes during a game save.

Why do people even post this kind of thing???? Benchmarks all over the net show that you're not going to get a very pretty FPS at very high even with a GeForce 8800Ultra. That sounds believable at High settings, but not Very High.

Type r_displayinfo 1 into console and it'll show ur fps, r_displayinfo 0 to take it off

Finished the game today on mid settings, great game overall

Yeah, my OCed 8800GT is getting 30FPS with everything high, and med shadows @ 1680x1050 with 4xAF, and the Ice level was pretty unplayable so I had to turn shaders to med. I can't see how an 8800GTX can get even 40FPS.

I oced my BFG 8800 Ultra OC which is already stock oced and i got it to 708 core and the shaders at 1727 this made such a difference on my fps in crysis its unreal, i have it on 1600 res on High setting but with the water on very high, HDR, and the sun shafts basically the dx9 mod thingylol but anyway the point to the guy who sed 2xaa or 4xaa isnt possible at that res is wrong u can have aa which impacts it less its in the config files called edge aa or vertical aa i changed that to 2 and it looks like its got aa enabled but doesnt have the huge drop in fps that it would if you enabled it in the menu, so im guessing it only does certain parts but anyways give it a go and see if you notice it

Okay, I have the same videocard, same proc and RAM just like that but from Corsair, I play on 1680x1050, High, no AA, I get about 30 FPS. I'm using Fraps.
Do you have any proof or are you just guessing those frames, if they're real, tell me wtf I'm doing wrong, did you OC your proc?

I play all high except Shaders and Shadows on 1680X1050 on my 8800GTS 320MB SC, I get an average of 25 fps on the crysis benchmark, which is playable for me.

Guys, you have to use the built in benchmark on crysis to truly check your fps, just using fraps while playing a level says nothing, as the alien ship level IS A LOT more closed in than the normal huge sandbox level.

I play at 1680x1050 with everything on High. Tried 2xAA and it butchered my frames.

Rig:

Q6600 @ 2.9ghz
2GB PC-6400 ram
WD 150gb Raptor
eVGA 8800GTX KO

with AA off i get around 40-50fps

Maybe you should qualify that statement. If the memory is there, your system will use it. I run my rig with dual monitors which allows me to watch the system resources widget. I have seen my memory spike in the 95% before while beta testing Hellgate London. So hate to say it but you are wrong.

4gb of ram is handy in 32bit windows. You can't utilize all of it for yourself (might be possible of you hacked windows). I have 4gb and it shows up as about 2.75gb which does help in memory intensive games. You need 64bit windows to utilize all 4gb for yourself

You can use up to 3.5gig for yourself depending on your mobo. Anything over that you will need 64bit windows. I have seen 2.75gig on some machines and 3.5 on others running 32-bit OS. My machine shows just over 3gig.

Look at the Gamespot tests...after 2GB there is no change. I have not seen a single game benefit from more than 2GB but if you want to have a bunch of programs running in the background then it will help. I'll just close what i don't need running.

If you do the r_displayinfo 1 command, it will show you how many MB of RAM the game is using. Mine typically shows about 850 MB of usage. So unless you have a TON of stuff running on your computer (which is entirely possible - mallware, background processes), anything over 2GB won't make a difference. Infact, as far as I can tell, having more then 2GB of RAM means your motherboard will not be able to access the memory as fast. The more RAM you drop into your motherboard, the slower the machine is with accessing it. Or so I understand.

As for Crysis, I'm running it at 1650x1050 on Windows XP (DX9) with all settings tweaked to "Very High". It's missing a number of DX10 only features, namely shaders, but otherwise it looks nearly identicle. I have AA turned off, and I toned down the Shadow density with a console command. It looks absolutely amazing, and I get about 20-30 FPS. This is on the rig in my signiture, sans the SLI setup (so, just a single GT, as I haven't had time to fuss with putting the second card in yet).

To see how it looks, check out this other thread: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=26036594.

1680x1050

no AA

Shadows and postpro on medium

Rest on high

I get 30-35 FPS with Crysis benchmarks

The one who said he is getting 60 fps "lol", we have almost the same rig except cpu and I tried playing it on very high and I get like 5 or 10 fps. If shaders, shadows and post pro are on high rest on very high I get around 20-23 fps. But the shaders are the cream and crop of this game so is no worth it even trying.

That is not true, the max amount of TOTAL memory for a 32bit OS is 4GB. This includes RAM, VRAM(Graphic card ram), and any other source. So this means if you have a 128mb video card it subtracts that from the 4gb. Now if you have a 512mb card it takes 512 off the 4gb. That is how different people get different maximum amounts of RAM.

I can get 10 FPS consistent with everything up but no AA. My system is optimized for high, but that only gives me 15-20 FPS. Right now im playing the game at 1280x1024 (high settings) which sucks on my big monitor and I still only get 25 FPS.

I thought the game would be optimized, I hope there is a nice patch.

Havne't got fraps right now butyeah okay you got me, i lied about how i could 'near enough' put everything on very high and play at medicore FPS... i feel so much better than everyone else! muahah... okay anyway i'm not lying. I give you my word, i'm running on the specs i mentioned, not overclocked, in windows vista. Everything is on 'Very high', Shader quality is on High, Post Processing is on High, NO anti-aliasing and at 1920x1200 resolution (don't really need AA at that res).

Specs in sig.

Playing with everything on Very High except Shadow and Effects quality on high. Getting around 20-30fps - 1280x800 - 2XAA
Still gotta be careful though. If I start moving a lot as soon as the level loads the game freezes instantly. Gotta give it a few seconds to load all the textures and stuff. I also haven't gotten to the ice level yet. I hear it has a huge hit on system performance. I'm gonna start overclocking my GPU tomorrow. Hoping to get 5-10 more fps out of it

Just to note, i'm using the 169.09 Nvidia beta drivers for my 8800GTX, despite being beta drivers these did improve my FPS in crysis considerably, proberbly by 5-10 FPS.

Nobody can play crysis on very high at that resolution with 2xaa. If they tell you they are, theyre lying.

Baselerd

well im not and i can get you proof, change the config file in it and change the value in edge AA to 2 and it only does the areas where AA is needed most rather than all of the image as far as i can see and its like having 2AA enabled but without the 10fps drop.
Mine on XP using that mod thingy for it lawl

[QUOTE="tkemory"]You can use up to 3.5gig for yourself depending on your mobo. Anything over that you will need 64bit windows. I have seen 2.75gig on some machines and 3.5 on others running 32-bit OS. My machine shows just over 3gig.musclesforcier

OK, so which part is untrue? You can check your system to see how much of the 4gig of installed ram windows thinks it is using, mine says 3.03gig. When I had 64-bit windows installed it showed the full 4gig, which is exactly what I said in my earlier post.

Then how do you know you are getting 30fps!?!?! LIES

I play at 1024x768 on very high DX10 with no AA or AF and I still get less than 30fps and lower than 20fps at times.

Highly doubtful anyone aside from Crytek is. Very High settings are designed for hardware not released to the public yet.

Man, Crysis people talk about fraps and hardware and settings an assload considering what an innovative game it is. You'd think you'd just set it at medium and try to keep fraps around 30. Then you could actually solve all those missions in all those creative ways and explore your sandbox the way it was meant to be.
