I would say don't bother. Get orange box instead. I actually spent time on there. UT3 is great if you like mutli- fast paced shooting but the action is so fast paced if you're not hardcore into it you'll be dying a lot and you won't play much.
I am thinking of buying UT 3 PC. Are there many playing it online?? Where can Check to see if there are alot of player out there??kramergoat
It did not sell very well. But as an hardcore ut player I'd say go get it. It's a great game with the latest patch and you will always find a server that fits your need, you just won't find dozens for every game type.

I found Unreal Tournament 3's visuals to be completely awesome. But honestly, I think The Orange Box is probably the better game, as far as gameplay is concerned (not to mention that it scales pretty well and performs better as a result, on my system at least).

CoD 4 online is freking amazing, along with a very well rounded (but short) still fun SP.. I'd say go for CoD instead of UT
You guys are missing the point. He wants a final confirmation on UT3, not other recommendations. I just got UT3 a couple days ago with every unreal game in that steam pack. It is interesting and ut2004 is a lot of fun. Unlike the other games people are mentioning, there is not a single game that matches the frantic pace/ unparalleled level of fps skill that comes from UT. You are looking at an old community that has twitch skills that make new kids cry. I am still getting the hang of it but you will get your ass handed to you. A lot. I recommend getting it if you can find it for cheap.
LOL you should have mentioned COD 4 from the start :). Go for COD 4 it is awesome in every way. UT3 is boring (not because i get owned) has an awkward feeling and has good graphics. I played UT3 for 6 or 7 hours max and that isn't in one day...nooo....it is in 6 days, if i wouldn't collect games and if UT3 wan't part of Unreal and the Unreal collection would be complete without it, i would give it for free to the first strager i see on th street :)it's that good. If you really want an UT game get the UT Anthology it has all the UT games, 2K3 not included + the soundrack from all the games.

It didn't seem worth the money to me when I tried it out. I could just get the same fast-paced action off a free game like Nexiuz or Warsow. Maybe if the price drops below $20, I'll snatch it. I just don't think it's worth full price.
To put it bluntly, it's not worth the full price. I got it for 30 bucks, which is now what it is on steam, I think. The reason I say it's not worth full price is because it is essentially UT2k4 minus a few gametypes and the same amount of maps on disc. Assault was one of my favorites, I was going to make an Assault-based gametype mod, but now I have to make it from scratch instead of borrowing from it.

Join the club. I finally founda couple servers where I fit in...and now have a good time.
Some of those die hard guys are just pathetic. You can't even get a shot off and 6 of them gang rape you.
