I played through Fallout 1 a few months ago. While it was quite good I didn't think it lived up to the legend that surrounds it. But then again i am yet to get around to Fallout 2 so perhaps that one is much better. I shall have to see.
i got fallout 1&2 in my computer. sometimes play fallout 2 only for 2nd part of holy grenade specially encounter. so sad haven't came crossed that yet. recently just started playing fallout tactic.
I actually just found a copy of F1 to buy about a month ago (already had F2, played and beat F1 awhile ago) after reading the Fallout Bible and having a nostalgic streak. Unfortunately, it only took me 3 days to beat with an "unarmed" character =(
I really enjoy the games, except they start off so slooowww. It's really boring walking around shooting bugs and scorpions, but once you play a bit longer and the story really picks up, the game is a blast.
to date i have beaten fallout 2 atleast 12 times not including all the times i used trainers(i know sad but fun) and i play it on a yearly basis, beat tactics and that was fun while it lasted but it didnt have replayability like fallout and im still looking for a copy of fallout 1, and maybe in a galaxy far far away i will find a finished copy of fallout 3( but then ill have to translate it and that will take forever to do
Bethesda Softworks bought the Fallout 3 license. So I'm pretty sure they will be developing Fallout 3. And im actually pretty confident in them since they are the creaters of the legendary Morrowwind and soon to come Oblivion.

I play both Fallouts all the time. The second part of the holy handgrenade encounter requires you to get a user made patch or edit the script.
