With my old graphics card, it ran like a dream (well, except for the fact that it crashed every 30 minutes). Now that I've got a new one (x1300 PCI, all I could really upgrade to), it runs at about 10FPS with everything on low.

I want to play it, but it doesn't want to coorperate.

On the other hand, Sim City 3000 has served me well for many years, indeed.

i used to have an ATI card and i had the same problem. It is an issue with simcity and the ATI drivers. I went to nvidia and it was ok.

SimCity 4 crashed on me alot too until I got the expansion for it.  Then the crashes stoped altogether.

Absolutely, the first game was incredible & still my favorite in the whole series. Waaay back when I bought my Amiga 2000, Sim City was the first game I had to buy!

I've played 2000, 3000 and 4. All good except for 3000 which has NO TUTORIAL... And has different strategies than 4, so I can't do the same thing I do in 4. (yes i played SC4 before SC3000)

I started playing CityLife for my pc a week ago and im desperate to install SC4 again, CityLife feels like simcity junior for age 4+ whereas SC4 requires planning.

SC4 does require planing... I almost shotgunned my computer several times after my airport wouldn't fit.

Ive played the original for DOS (I never understood that game). Then played 2000 and 4. SC4 was a nice game, although a little demanding on my brain!!!

Could some of you give me some easy tips on how to play this game? I've tried to play Sim City 4 over and over again and I just can't keep people in my town. The town has power and plenty of water. What am I doing wrong?

thanks in advance.

I've played it off and on in the past years. It's a fun game, I prefer it over all the others in the series. Never played the original. Started with SC2000 as it came with my first computer I bought. It's a tough game for me, trying to get it just the way I like it, but I enjoy the game that way. I hope the current developers do not continue going down the path they have been with SimCity Societies. Do not like the direction that was put in whatsoever.
