Downloaded it from Steam today, and I have to say it's a pretty fun FPS game. I don't even really feel like I'm playing a F2P game either. Unfortunately my current GFX card isn't able to keep up with Blacklight's visuals, but despite that I'm able to enjoy the game nonetheless.

I really encourage anyone looking for a solid FPS game to give it a try. Once I get a new card, this may be my new go to FPS game....and it's FREE!!

Contrary to these guys, I thought it was pretty neat. The graphics are decent, great for ftp, and the gameplay was very tight when I played. I just stopped because I have BF3 and MW3, both superior games. It is fun though if you need a free to play shooter. I liked it more than Tribes, but that's just preference I'm sure.

I tried it but the movement and gunplay seemed very slow/floaty, a lot like brinks. I was not a fan

I think it's overall the best free to play shooter out disregarding the business model, although it depends on how you look at it. It's easy to rent everything temporarily but you can only buy items permanently with virtual credits which is tough in a game that encourages so much customization, I praised the game during the beta for the extensive customization it offers similar to GRO, but the business model is problematic even if the starter weapons can already kill any player just fine when aiming for the head.

wat

He's making fun of you for being an idiot and acting harcore on the internet. Also, GTFO. This isn't system wars.

On topic. I just tried Blacklight for the first time last night. I'm not very good at online shooters, but I was definitely having some fun. The customization/market menus seem really confusing, though. After playing a few matches and earning some GP, I kept trying to buy a new gun, and I couldn't figure out how to make it work. Eventually, it did work, and I don't know what I did differently. I'll keep playing it a bit more though, and see if I figure it out. I'd been meaning to look into these F2P shooters for a while, and I saw a buddy of mine on Steam playing it, so I picked it up. Also gonna try out Tribes: Ascend soon, once I clear up some harddrive space.

Played it a few hours yeah, it's descent but honestly I don't see why you would play it unless you really can't afford any of the paid games, or you just want to customize weapons all day. If I'd have to play a f2p shooter only it's be Tribes: Ascend.

Another "yes" vote. But I will say they don't provide proper guidence for beginners. It took me quite a while to figure out some stuff, for example how to use level-up rewards or how to fuse nodes properly. But overall it's a good game. As for performace my HD 4670 512MB provides playable fps (40s-50s) at 1080p with medium settings and v-sync off.

Along with Tribes its the best F2P shooter out there. Graphically its of course awesome, but more importantly the gunplay feels very good, the maps except for one are very well designed, the modes are all fun, the store does not interfere with the fun, leveling is fast and gives you some nice rentals, so far not even one cheater, the power suit is nicely balanced, the see through walls mechanic cuts down on camping and keeps the action flowing. So like I said one of the best shooters out now and well worth your time.

Coincidently did too. It's pretty good, quite damn good for a free to play game. It's punchy, and very polished - though it plays a lot like a sci-fi COWADOOTY - which isn't a bad thing at all. It does that really quite well. Looking forward to the new update a lot - it's a mode like that this game needs.

I thought it was actually pretty fun, but didn't really keep my attention. I stopped playing after about a week and havn't gone back since, but I'll probably give it another go sometime.

It's a alright games I suppose but if you have any 2011/2012 shooter your really not going to get anything new from the experience... while I found it as a whole a good game for me that's just not enough to keep me coming back to it. Its a mulitplayer it needs to get under your skin so when your not playing it you all you do is want to go back and play more... and unfortunately this games didn't deliver that addictive adrenaline needed in order for me to play more than 10 hours of it. Try Tribes... by far the best multiplayer game I have played in a while and its free to play and not flawed in a pay to win way. I consistently end up being in the top 3 players very regularly and have done since I started playing and that was against people with unlocked weapons and classes.
