Ya, there are a couple of things you can do. 1. Just clean it with windex, but make sure you use a very wet paper towel or even cloth and give it a good rub (in circular motions, not straight "against the grain" of the burn" ) then dry with a clean cloth. If this doesn't help, go to option 2. 2. You can polish the CD. Now here you have to be careful. You can try to find a place that will polish it for you (computer stores, indy ones anyways, used to offer this service. Don't know if you'll find this in your area or not but check). If you can't find a place that can polish it for you, then you are going to need access to someone's shop that has a bench grinder. With a bench grinder, you can get a buffing wheel for it and some fine rouge. (the buffing wheel must be the softest grade one you can get). You must take off the level plate or platform from the grinder so you get the CD to the buffing wheel. The CD must be mounted to a small back board with double sided tape (not too strong though) to avoid bending the CD. You rub the fine rouge on the buffing wheel (while spinning of coarse) and buff the CD as best you can. When you remove the CD from the back board, use Varsol or mineral spirits to take off any adhesive that doesn't come off as well as rouge residue. (Varsol or mineral spirits won't attack the plastic the CD is made out of). Finish by cleaning with Windex again as this will remove static that can build up when using Varsol on plastic. 3. There is some software out there that claims to be able to allow you to read scratched CDs but I have never used or needed them so I can't advise on those things. Good luck.

Actually don't use a paper towel, toilet paper, or kleenex's because they have glass in them so they can actually scratch it worse, just make sure you use a cloth towel:)

It all depends on how deep the scratch is, I managed to fix one of my old Football Manager games.

Basically, get some normal house polish and a fairly clean duster, spray the polish on the shiny side, and rub it with a fair bit of pressure for a few minutes. Kepp repeating this until you give up.
