It will be kind of hard to play on private servers since the game has a 30gb installation, so if someone would want to play on private servers, they would need to buy the game anyway.
Oh and Dust, I agree with you, why not pay to play a game that is full of bugs and missing content, when you can pay 15$ per month for it?

Wasn't talking about AoC which I know is full of bugs now, I was talking about WoW because unlike AoC, WoW has private servers. WoW has many bugs but compared to private servers it's perfect in any possible way.

30Gb installation is not really a problem. Packed it's just 15Gb and with a good connection, it won't even take long to download it.
What Dust meant is that private servers are buggy.
The reason Blizzard doesn't do anything is simple: bad advertising. Imagine, you are watching the news and a story pops up that Blizzard has sued a company for owning a private server for WoW. The Private server is Free to Play as opposed to Blizzards 15 bucks a month deal. Anyone curious would do more research on the topic and find a private server and start playing it. And BANG he quits retail to play the F2P private server. 15 bucks a month lost to Blizzard. Imagine the bad advertising this would incur.
Oh, and btw, does AoC have a monthly fee? Just wondering, if it doesn't I don't see the need for private servers (except increased rates, which brings back another reason people might want to play a private server instead of a retail server)
