[QUOTE="chaplainDMK"][QUOTE="gp19"]You have an Intel HD 3000 Integrated Graphics Card. You are NOT having any issues, what you are describing is the Graphics Card giving you 110% and still falling short, because it is not supposed to decode large HD video files or play games. It's just for casual video watching and very light gaming.The_Animator420
I previously had a laptop with a HD 2000 card and it could run 1080p videos without a hitch. My ex girlfriend had a laptop with a Intel i3 CPU with HD 3000 and we watched HD videos without issues. I played plenty of games on HD 2000/3000 laptops and while not exactly being the best things, it never did any of the above. Also YouTube 1080p videos work without issues. Hell, I've never heard of the slow motion animation thing in anything. Also in most cases the games run well, Tribes: Ascend runs at 40-50 fps, same for World of Tanks, Warthunder etc., it just occasionally goes nuts. And it's not due to overheating because like I said, it starts doing this weather its cool or hot. It can start doing it the second you load up the game, or it can run it for 2 hours and not do anything.
This isn't normal, but I guess nobody had this happen yet.
There is no way you got 40-50fps in World of Tanks at 1080p. Scroll down and take a look at the game benchmarks that the HD3000 can achieve. http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-HD-Graphics-3000.37948.0.html The display resolution is 1600x900, but yeah, I can run it at 40-50 FPS on low.Well one interesting thing I found out, this laptop actually has a discrete Nvidia 525m GPU that doesn't show up on DxDiag, but only apparently gets used when more power is needed. This also explains why the games run better than expected.
I'm going to update the drivers for it and see how it goes.
Â
Okay, report:
I've installed the latest drivers for the GT 525m, and HD video performance has improved, while SD video is now getting a bit choppy. HD and SD video now has about equal perforamnce. Also World of Tanks now runs at 40-70 FPS, mostly at about 60.Â
What the hell? Â It seems something is wrong with the drivers or something. Maybe conflict between the HD3000 and the 525m?Â
Â
Update:
Now I'm installing the latest drivers for the HD3000. Will report of any improvements in video playback Â
Â
Fixed, all videos now play flawlessly. Thanks for pointing out that the HD3000 wouldn't be able to play the games so well, otherwise I probably wouldn't have went and checked out for the second GPU.Â
