Are Gordon's hands supposed to be so darn shiny?

a while ago i bought the orange box for $10. i decided i wanted to replay hl2 (the only other time i've ever played it was on xbox). its even better on pc, as i've come to notice, but this is really bugging me. i have everything on max settings and everything looks great...except...well...gordon has shiny hands sometimes (it only really seems to appear in the dark). the pistol also sometimes looks kinda shiny/glossy in sorta dark areas too. is this a glitch or is this just some sort of effect thats supposed to happen. the pic is an example of his silver shiny hands

EDIT: the pic is smaller then i wanted it to be, but yea, if you notice his gloves don't look like they normally do in good lighting. they look kinda like that silver terminator from terminator 2.

I'd check my game...but I'm just too lazy to open that old game. I'm so helpful :D

gloves can be shiny... and the pistol is probably a metal of somekind

Yeah that's how they are. I always notice it in Canal, when you first go under water. Bleh.

theyre black, shiny gloves problably covered with alien slime and blood so its looks shiny

It's supposed to look like that. Maybe the xbox has some settings toned down a bit because it's a console.

It's just the leather on the gloves.
