Hi, with the steam sales i've been having my eye on Blur and NFS Shift 2 Unleashed. How are these games? Do racing games play well on a keyboard/mouse? Or is it awkward?

I don't really like using the keyboard and mouse so I, use my PS3 controller instead.

Like he said, use a controller. Typically I only buy racing games if they support the Xbox 360 controller, as thats the only controller have. I buy from Games For Windows if I want to use a controller.

I usually play racing games with a controller as well, Trackmania 2 being the only exception.

Before I got a steering wheel I used to play games with the keyboard. Usually if the racing game is arcade it works just fine. In the case of Shift 2, which is more realistic, you need a gamepad or a steering wheel simply for the sensitivity requirements.

Blur was a pain with KB+M, it plays so much better with a controller - on the time challenge tracks I shaved 1.5 seconds off my time just by changing to a controller!

I'm not a fan of racing games, but this thing looks awesome.

I use a 360 controller for Need For Speed Hot Pusuit, but I've found that GRiD is amazing with keyboard controls. It's all preference.

WASD is awkward IMO. You cant replicate the pressure sensitive finger buttons from a 360 controller which are generally very important for racing (acceleration, breaking, etc) .
