I have 2 gbs of memory on my computer, and I wanted to upgrade to 4 because I bought Dragon Age and I want my rig to be able to handle it when the game arrives in the mail.

I've been checking Newegg and can't believe how expensive the prices of RAM has gone up. Before I could get 2 gb for 30 dollars. Now the cheapest they have is 50! Does anyone know where I can find a good deal on RAM?

RAM pricing is probably the most volatile part of the computing industry, so who knows when DDR3 will come down in price. But as MonsieurX said, DDR2 is more likely to keep increasing in price since its not made anymore.

DDR2 is not being made anymore? No wonder the prices shot up! I guess I better get some while I can.

Yeah sucks price went up. I was able to get my ram back in January/February 4gigs DDR2 - 800(timings 4-4-4-10) for $27. It's a shame that prices sky rocketed =/.

2GB is sufficient to play Dragon Age, if you're getting bad performance, it's most likely due to your processor/ video card.

As Ikavnieks said 2GB is grand for Dragon Age but i have noticed Ram has gone up in price lately, not sure why but i wonder if the time of year has anything to do with it so i would say hold off until january and see.

[QUOTE="MonsieurX"]DDR3 will drop DDR2 won't.

Agreed. I've seen allot of people going off of the notion that if DDR3 prices drop so will DDR2, that's just not the case at all. The only thing that really seems to dictate RAM prices is "supply and demand." If there's allot of people buying DDR2 RAM expect the prices to increase, and if it's not too demanding prices will generally fall. Same thing goes with the supply part of it. So don't base DDR3 prices going down on what will happen with DDR2 etc.
