I'm using an air cooling system, will round cables make much of a difference?

If you have a window it'll look much better, and it does slightly improve airflow especially if you have a ribbon cable near the input of a fan. What cables are you buying and how much are they to cost $30?

They will not obstruct the airflow as much as flatcables will do, but either good cable management or SATA cables can deal with most issues here. And round cables are maybe worth $5 max.

I'm buying a custom computer at Velocity Micro, and their case round cables are $30.

That's way too much. You can find most cables much cheaper or use random flatcables and twist them yourself.
