the game looks like a mix of Tropico and Sid Myers Pirates, have you given either of those a try?

Never heard of Tropico and Sid Myers Pirates bores me.

Edit: Tropico looks unintresting to me and is The Guild 2 like Port Royale?

Never heard of that game but it seems to be cool. I really liked Tropico but some missions were really hard. I believe it looks like Tropico but not Sid Meir's Pirates.

As far as I know there are no other games like that one. You could try Sid Meier's Pirates but that's more arcade and repetetive, in my opinion.

I haven't played Port Royale but you may find some of these older games of interest to you, although they're more heavy on strategy and city building.

Anno 1503 and Anno 1602

The Patrician series, last entry is Patrician III

Europa 1400: The Guild

These titles are probably the closest that you'll get. Patrician 3 is the "cousin" of Port Royale. Its made by the same developers, but less focused on combat.

Yea im a big Port Royale fan and your best bets are tyhe Anno series, Patrician series (closest related to Port Royale), Pirate Hunter and The Guild 2: Pirates of the European Seas. All games have a learning curve but hella fun in the end.
