Are there any nice online game communities?

I don't care if it's a MMO or not. I got WoW again only to find out all my 'friends' have either left or are so far beyond they want nothing to do with me. Lower level areas are even more rare, and people do not group at all now, not even for group quests! What the hell happened?! :( Don't tell me to look for people IRL because I live in a very screwed up small town, hence why I look for friends online.

TF2 generally has a good community, especially if you find a good server with some cool guys, like I did.
