They're both pretty solid and have gotten good reviews on NewEgg.
I wouldn't trust it in my computer...
Crucial is your best friend when it comes to memory. Wal-mart is about the last place I would go for computer hardware.
If your in the Houston / Dallas / Austin area, try Altex. They have everything from reasonably priced computers to motherboards, even Antec tricool fans.

I wouldn't trust Corsair either... HostileEffect
Why wouldn't you trust Corsair? They're one of the most reviewed memory companies on New Egg and they have a lifetime warranty on their products.
Thanks for the advice guys. However, I just realizedthat my PC takes DDR memory, not DDR2 memory...can anyone tell me what the difference is? Can DD2 fit in the same slot as DDR? They look about the same size anyways...chandlerr_360
DDR2 will not fit in a DDR slot as the notch is in a diffrent place and it has a different number of pins.
DDR2 is basically a new revision of origanal DDR, generally the higher the number at the end of the "DDR" the faster that type of memory is.

For one how could you trust them? You dont even know what they can do? Look what is under the hood of your rig? Ha weak...poor poor. But like the guy below you said Corsair is a top rated company. I own OCZ memory and an OCZ powersupply. You don't trust them either I take it?

Yeah seriously, don't trust Corsair? That was kind of stupid. If you don't trust Corsair you might as well not trust any brand of memory.I wouldn't trust it in my computer...

Dude Corsair is great when it comes to ram but i have to agree that wal mart isnt the best place to get ram. Try newegg and you can get some ram super cheap their. Also i suggest G.Skill, Corsair, and Mushkin when it comes to ram. Ive had great experiences with those companys and only had 1 stick broken but only because it was broken within shipping (i blame ups since they like to play kickball with your packages).
Hmmm, I was looking on newegg.com and DDR memory seems to be MORE expensive than DDR2? Why is that if DDR 2 is better? Anyone know if it is even possible to get a 1GB DDR stick under $45.00? If so, whats the best one?chandlerr_360DDR's more expensive because it's near the end of its life.. it's old tech, so they can charge more for it (I use DDR!). Your best bet for cheap deals are online classifieds for FS/FT forums, honestly. There's a lot of people unloading old DDR.

To be fair, Corsair's and OCZ's memory both tend to not be as awesome as Crucial's Ballistix, G.skill's HZs, and Buffalo's Firestix when it comes to high-end stuff, but they cost as much or more. You're paying for a very solid brand, but likely not getting the best performance out there for it. And OCZ's reaction to jonnyguru was classic, too... when he mentioned that the two GameXStream PSUs he tested both had ripple beyond the ATX spec when under heavy load (i.e. slowly kills parts over the course of months, but it's nearly impossible to load the PSU that much) in his review and gave it a harsh review, he suddenly ceased to hear from them afterward.[QUOTE="chandlerr_360"]Hmmm, I was looking on newegg.com and DDR memory seems to be MORE expensive than DDR2? Fact of the matter is, it's fine for most people, because they never really use all the power their PSU has to offer. Load up the 12v rail too hard though, and it will perform outside what the ATX spec allows. I'd still use it myself, though. Hah. :D
